Couldn“t agree more Dizzi.
We smokers have human rights as well.
Does he want you to have pneumonia on top of everything else.
I agree, smoking is bad, but so are lots of other things.

This is not meant to be contentious but I am interested. As a non smoker I wonder, do you smoke because you find it too hard to give up? That is, if it was easy, somebody waved a magic wand would you rather not smoke? Or is it because you really enjoy it, do you fear getting lung, throat or mouth cancer, or do you enjoy it so much that it is worth the risk. Those who smoke indoors despite partners etc not wanting you to, is that because you don't believe the scare of passive smoking?

It is such a risk and people have suffered so much that it really does puzzle me.

As I said this is not to start an argument it is a genuine query.

Rollo, I am sorry to hear about your oh it must be very painful and uncomfortable for her.

Oh, I do understand if it is worth the risk. I still come to the sun to holiday despite being prone to developing rodent ulcers, although I do take the precaution of high factor sun cream. :-)

AnninGlos, I smoke and have done so most of my life, I find it impossible to stop,

I have tried everything available and despite having suffered a heart attach i still cannot stop,

I even managed to stop for 6 month and thought i had cracked it but eventually gave in and started again,

I have seen what smoking does both to a smokers health and none smoker through passive smoking and it still gets me,

People bang on about cancer but more smokers die from other smoking related health problem other than cancer and i have felt that these other smoking related conditions don't get the publicity they should, My wife is a nurse and says the hospitals are full of smokers dieing from other smoking related health issues other than cancer,

I used to think that as long as i kept myself reasonably fit i could "reduce" the effects but it's not the case, I used to be super fit right up to having my heart attack "3 blocked arteries" before i had my heat attack i could still run a full marathon at the drop of a hat "no training" and was built like a brick sh*t house, I now have a rather large beer gut although according to my doctor my weight is OK but i cannot now run more than about 20 yards without getting either chest pain or getting breathless

My advice is if you smoke and can stop then STOP if not then at least cut down your daily amount, I used to do 40 to 60 a day but am down to abt 20 a day now although when i go to the pub i still tend to smoke more

Roy

Edit, I forgot to say, I stopped smoking indoors years ago when my wife was expecting our first child,
As for fear of cancer or other related health issues i would rather not suffer any of them but i have never feared anything including death
