I'll tell you what DID work for me, after conventional treatments didn't. I had a wart on my finger, which I had frozen off but it came back again and nothing would shift it.

I read somewhere that dandelion sap, the white stuff in the leaves, just dabbed on the wart in the mornings would do it, and sure enough, it was gone in two days.

Joking apart, the biggest quack stupid home medication of all is homeopathy, now thankfully declining as the manufacturers are now obliged to tell you that there is nothing in it. Lots of people think this stupidity is herbal but it isnt. Its an expensive way to buy nothing, literally.

People swear by herbal remedies and some of them are effective. The ones that work are easily recognised. We call them medicines. Yes, willowbark is where we derive aspirin and Foxgloves give us Digitalis for heart conditions, but no one in their right mind would use this stuff in an unrefined state, i.e. not in a medicinal format.

I know. I cant believe that anyone would spend £10 on a tube of homeopathic sleeping pills that don't contain anything other than lactose!

Nice work if you can get it - anyone can buy a bin liner full of sugar pills or sacharin tablets, call them tincture of evening grumbleweed and say they will cure warts if taken 3 times a day for a month. At least now you will have to say there's nowt in them :-)

Something which I do have in my cupboard and use for myself.......bearing in mind I take no other regular medication so I know it won't cross with anything...is slippery elm for when I have a stomach upset.

It was given to me once when i had a crashing hangover when I was a teenager by a customer of mine lol....and I've used it ever since.

Other than that........it's conventional all the way for me x

Yes, amazingly I found that barley and malt have high concentrations of vitamin C - and b, d, e and f with quite a lot of g and t as well.

So I go the natural route- no tablets for me, straight down with the original, only slightly modified :-)

A friend of mine had a tin of Mackeson every evening when she was pregnant...as did my Mum many years before, so Eldrick the content of beers & stout really do have their benefits.
I'm not so sure about Sanatogen Fortified Wine though :-)

I hate popping pills but needs must due to RA, I do however
drink Tonic Water (without the Gin) to stave off painful cramps
in feet and legs.
