Hard on the heels of the petrol panic, theres now going to be a shortage of both charcoal and ferrero rocher chocolate treats.

Apparently the drought down south has affected the sapwood of the ash and hazel used to make the charcoal, plus the smelters have been put out of operation for health and safety reasons, as there is a hosepipe ban and they can't dowse the fires if they get out of control.

The chocolate shortage is due to a dispute with the emulsified cocoa powder which comes traditionally from Kenya and is imported into France by Ferrero. New EU rules say that it must come from Brazil as that is where the trade agreement is, so whilst the dispute is being sorted out production has stopped.

There are reports of large queues at both Homebase and speciality chocolate outlets throughout southern England and even in parts of rural Wales.

How much more can a man take. This government really does need to get its act together. Disgraceful.

ROFLMAO rural Wales is very badly affected, there was a mob of very angry women carrying placards outside of our local Choccy shop. Raging hormones and an increase of body fat due to the fall in chocolate intake are causing concern in the Welsh Assembly Government.

There is no concern about lack of Water in Wales......we send it to Birmingham and if necessary the WAG will considering turning the tap off

;-)

It was a complete crush at our local shops today, queues for petrol and fights over jerry cans, the pasty shop has been looted, the co-op has been raided for charcoal and the remains of the chocolate delivery lorry is still smouldering outside, as firemen can't put it out...a) they have no diesel to fuel the fire trucks and b) there's a hosepipe ban.

It's carnage I tell you... :-S

PS, I forgot to mention the queues of pensioners panic buying postage stamp before the price rise....they are thinking of calling in the army just to control the pensioners, the rest can go to hell!

I have built an underground storage facility and it's stocked up to the rafters with jaffa cakes and tins of My Mums chilli sauce. You really can't be too careful nowadays, although I understand there are regulations about the bulk storage of tinned spicy comestibles, I am prepared to court danger and ignore it, even if it means facing the wrath of the can police.

(that was a joke)
