" Hopefully you have noticed that the site is now performing as it should again "

As it should? AT LEAST Two Purple Error Messages before getting on site? That's what I've had for at least a week. I expect it now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... OH worked on computers for International companies for years (so did I, but not full time).......... if we had messed around like GR we wouldn't have lasted long.

How long has GR been going? About time it worked. :-|

If this site is performing correctly then I'm a monkeys uncle :-P :-P :-P. Still getting error messages. Come on GR fix it !!!!!!!

Island Report 27 Mar 2012 10:18

It would be good if those in charge of tinkering at GR would tell the support team when they are at it and they in turn could give members informative answers instead of the usual bull feathers!!!

Hi all, I lost my family Tree from this site two years ago before it was taken over. I was too disheartened to start again until a couple of months ago as I still had all my old messages and contacts. On going into messages, I was horrified to find that all but a few from G.R. members with whom I had contact recently were gone...I have lost them. I can never get onto this site anymore without signing in so I am not renewing in April as I never had much input to the boards. However, I shall continue to look in and enjoy the banter from everyone..Good luck to you all, Sylvia C.

P.S.

Just been looking on Jackies thread and realised I hadn't

given credit to the G.R. staff who tried (but failed) to get my

family tree and contacts back for me, they were always polite

and courteous in their e-mails to me. Thank's G.R. team

Not performing as well as other sites, slower than them, error still with My Threads, and the Irish research information thread has disappeared again, possibly during the disruption.

I hope something can be done soon getting silly now.

Had problems getting on threads as well as having to sign in few times over last few weeks.

Not tried looking at tree yet as saw the new lay out and DONT LIKE IT :-( :-S

LadyScozz Report 28 Mar 2012 09:45

Of all the postings I have read about the new tree, I think I've only seen one person saying they liked it.

I HATE IT!!! :-P

I'm still getting Error Messages.......... so much for the GR post that they'd fixed it. :-P

About time they re-worded the generic answers too........ they are becoming all too familiar. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

Quote
You can reduce the likelihood of timeouts by deleting old messages and removing old contacts you are no longer in contact with. Large numbers of messages, watched threads and contacts within your account will increase the time it takes the site to respond.

Do you know that you cannot remove threads from "my threads" unless they are your own?
Even if I delete my postings to a thread they are still in "my threads"

Ah memories Jimbob, it takes me back to the time when text size suddenly changed for some of us and GR told us we needed to adjust our browsers LOL
Ev-en-tu-ally they admitted to tinkering and hey presto! nobody needed to do anything.
That was years ago and still they blame the members!

I think it is lack of communication between tinkerers and support. I wish support would check before sending out duff 'advise'

Not sure if anyone has found this problem and reported it but just for the record here goes: If i try to view a shared tree whilst in the Old Tree viewer nothing is displayed! Anybody else noticed this?
(please don't advise me to use the "New Tree" as I am still compiling a list of problems with it and currently have no intention of using it on a regular basis).

Has anyone else got my problem... I can't up load photo's. I know I'm not doing anything wrong as I have quite a few photo's on my tree already.
It goes through the motions but the photo doesn't appear. I have reported this a few days ago, I had one message, but noting has been resolved.

Takes ages to actually get onto the site, then ages to access messages or message boards etc etc.

Huia Report 2 Apr 2012 08:17

This morning I couldnt read any of the recent messages on long threads. It refused to put the last post first. I tried going to the page numbers but got only up to 460 (I think it was) and there would have been lots more. This evening (I am in NZ) I have had trouble even getting on GR. At last I am here but I dont know whether I will be able to read the long threads. Keeping my fingers crossed - not easy to type with them crossed though.

well it has been so long now for this to continue this Error that keeps appearing now we have a big problem of people trying to delete off their thread.
This is not working either the meaage goes but the thread stays. who wants pages and pages of threads that are no longer in operation.? for you.?
Why change a system unless you know all parts are working better than they were before.? otherwise why change the system that has been working well in the past.
