Have always bought reduced food if it is something I would normally buy, tastes even better if you know it was reduced.

There were two bits of reduced cheese in the Co-Op last week. I hadn;t tasted them before so I bought one and it was utterly delicious.

I wish I hab bought the other one because it was gone by the next day.

Yes, I can't resist a bargain so always look at the reduced shelf. Tins with a small dents are a good buy and the reduced fresh meat. Then there are the washing detergents/tablets with crumpled boxes (who cares!) I never fancy the ready meal type things with meat in though, although I am sure they are perfectly good.

They were BRILLIANT bargains Suzanne!!

Yes, never buy anything full price from the bakery in the local supermarket. Always look at the vege reduced to clear area, to see if they have anything I eat reduced. I was walking back to my office one day after popping across the road to the supermarket on my break and had come back with a couple of items that had yellow reduced to clear stickers on them and had one workmate wanting to know when I was going to remove the stickers so that no one would know that I had brought them at a reduced price Lol.

People seem to think thats it only pensioners and people on low wages that buy reduced food, but thats not true, most people do now because food is so expensive, i only know two people who wont eat reduced food, thats my brother and his family and my mother in law. if you dont buy it the supermarkets throw it in the bin which is a terrible waste of good food. :-D

I sometimes go to morr----s at around 8pm when they reduce the savory pies down to 25p for four, steak pies and large sausage rolls, they also reduce the chicken legs and thighs down to pennies,i always get what i can, pies go into freezer for packed lunches for hubby and sons, and the chicken will be used in chicken curry and frozen until needed. :-D :-D

We had a figgy Christmas pudding last night bought from a posh farmers market type shop. It was reduced to £2 from £8 and sell by date was the end of March. It was yummy :-D

We also have a factory outlet village near us with a couple of well know Chocolate shops. I got FIL a lage box of luxuary mint chocs (his favorite) reduced to 99p.
They sell things even with sell by date for two or three months time at very discounted rates.

I always look for bargins, fruit and veg can be frozen or added to stews.

Mersey my Aunt sent some Money for flowers to put on my Mum and Dads grave as she lives far from us. I went into the supermarket, and this was in the morning, and they were all heavily discounted including roses and carnations. They looked perfectly ok to me. I got double the amount for the money and they made a lovely display :-)

not one person has been on this thread and said they dont buy reduced food,so its safe to say that most of us do(except my brother and mother in law) do.
my freezer is full of reduced meat, bread and pies, also full of homemade cottage pie made with reduced mince and homemade curries (made with reduced chicken i bought from morr--s yesterday,we eat well and most things are homemade in this house, but sometimes i can reduce my big monthly food bill by half and thats not going out late at night to supermarkets, thats just picking up thing when i see them. :-D

That sounds like my MIL Stray, She once had all family members stacking up on a certain brand which FIL eats. It lasted him for months. I do the same with shower gell and handwash soap and shampoo etc. :-)

I buy over-ripe bananas then spend the morning baking banana bread and muffins for the freezer. I will sometimes buy reduced food if I know I will use it quickly otherwise it's not a bargain.
