ALWAYSHEAD FOR THE REDUCED FOOD BEFORE DOING MY SHOP.

I'd adapt my shopping list and add in reduced itms, if it was something which I could use quickly or freeze.
I don't work to a list generally.

It would depend on what it was and why it was reduced plus if it was on my shopping list

Taking into account,
use by date,
sell by date
best before date,

A friend of mine worked for one of the large supermarkets and was responsible for reducing prises on some items and they often reduced prises because of stock control, and nothing to do with quality
If they had not sold enough of something they needed to turnover items to meet a target or they needed the shelf space because more stock was due to be delivered then the would reduce the prise to clear the shelf/storage space,

11am everyday in MandS unless they are to busy then it gets reduced when ever

Am told that about 4.00 p.m. on a Saturday is also a good time.

I buy items if I notice them when doing a 'normal' supermarket shop.

In the kitchen at the moment are spring onions, bought on 'yellow ticket'.
The way I look at it is that maybe half an hour before I buy them, they were full price, so there can't be much wrong.

That fruit was really cheap.
When the children were all home, I used to freeze excess bananas like that. Great peeled, wrapped in tinfoil, then put in the freezer and eaten frozen as individual healthier versions of lollies.

I always buy reduced food,but dont go to the supermarket just to buy it.
today in mo-------s i bought cooked chicken legs at half price,and four steak pies,the pies go in the freezer for packed lunches and we will have the chicken for tea. im always on the lookout for reduced fruit as my family eats a lot of it and a few days ago As-d had pags of apples and bananas for 20p,i got 8bags of apples and about three lots of bananas.food is very expensive for everyone now and if you can get it a little cheaper why not. :-)

I do as and when I see any. I wish I could find more as well. Every penny counts nowadays.

I do have a family member that wouldn't though or go to a market to buy things, they only buy from Marks foodhall and one of the more expensive supermarkets, I once mentioned that Ald** had fruit and veg on the monthly offer and was told 'Oh I'd never go in there.' Their loss not mine lol. Their attitude is the same with clothes as well.

I know someone that gets his weekly shop that way. But he can afford to buy at full prises tho, I see him at one of the record centre and he was eating a sandwich and the bread was green at the ends.I told him and he took that bit off and carried on eatting rest of the samdwich. Thats taking it to far dont you think?

ll do it as and when l see things, wish l saw more.l freeze meats/fish. A neighbour does it all the time because he can't afford full price.

yes and also people with big familys like myself, but what i wanted to know is do some people do this all the time or do some just pick up one or two items in the normal shop,and also is their people who would never eat reduced food.

fresh meats i do as i freeze them,
veg and fruit, i buy as i feed it to my rabbits, ginny pigs, and tortoise, :-D

Today at my local supermaket i notice a man who trolley was full to the top of reduced food(lots of food reduced early on a sunday) i wondered if he did that all the time and just made up meals from the reduced items,what a great way to safe money on your shopping bill,but would you be bothered to do it? :-D
