Having read through some of the threads, I notice that several people are saying that they are going to leave, for varying reasons.
Now, if I owned a company, and people were talking about leaving, I would be asking myself WHY?
And, is there anything I CAN do about it.

Hello Julia, I completely agree with you, wonder if GR will be asking themselves that, and more importantly doing something about it.

It's not the first time that members have left on mass,
It happened before and the members who left set up their own web site, (I am a member my self) GR where not bothered before and i don't think they will bother now.

I am well and truly gagged at the moment as got laryngitis

GR do not seem bothered about losing any members.

Aaaw GB what a pain :-(

*talks about her as she can't answer back*

Seriously GR have an income stream from advertising and a few members leaving won't trouble their finances or conscience.

They know there are some very dedicated and selfless people on here who provide the research service for them.

A few spats here and there will make absolutely no impact on them.

Roy's right, there has been a mass exodus before. People leave all the time, most of the people who posted regulary here when I first joined don't now.

People leave, other people join, it's part of life.

StrayKitten Report 7 Mar 2012 13:15

a few members leaving the community boards is small fry, and will make not a jot of difference to GR, if were honest

obviously if its a well loved member it offects moral on the boards but to the company it makes no odds :-(

'Pinocchio' If that was the site run by Colin then it closed down because they had problems with WUMS and trouble makers I believe. The other site doesn't have problems because they have visible moderators chosen from members.

People always say they're leaving. Some do ...most don't.

Been like it since I joined yonks back and the world continues to turn if folk leave and GR just recruit more members.

Drop in the ocean to them x

The reason I put up this thread, was because, personally, I think it is a shame when someone leaves, unless it is for their own reasons, eg. just taking a break, into something else, gardening season, etc.
But after reading the thread, it would appear that our custom is taken for granted, and that too is a shame.
I saw today, a great misdemeanor towards a newbie on here. It is a wonder it did not put the newbie off. That too is a shame, because not everybody talks to others in that derogatory way.
I do not expect anyone to agree with me. But I for one do not like being taken for granted, and most certainly would not have liked being talked to in the way the newbie was.

is it the post that was RR'd? if so i never seen it, but the last few threads put up by newbies there has been "disagreements" on and its a shame, and would put people of,

i dont feel like i need to be missed if i dont post, as fr me its a place to come for time out of things i have going on in real life,

of course we miss you when your not about julia :-D
