Perhaps one of the helpful members who found her rellie could pm her and ask her to look at this thread again, in case she was scared to return.

Here, here Ann. It was totally unnecessary, vulgar, and way below the belt.
I too, in their own words, hope they, do not renew, when their subs are due.

Lesley I am pleased that somebody has been able to help you, I hope you find what you are looking for and can ignore any rudeness on here. :-)

I too despair of people who speak to new (and some old) posters in such a disparaging way. How rude when people are trying to help. I would be quite glad if they, in their own words, did not renew when their subs expired.

Lesley

As it seems that he probably died in Scotland, the info about the GRO isn't applicable with regard to his death cert

You CAN buy his birth cert from there, to find out the full names of his parents - if you don't already have those details.

Have you looked in 'search trees' to see if anyone else is researching this family?

Scottish bmd info is much less readily available - they are much more aware of the rights of privacy of individuals

Yes Puss, Scottish certs give loads more info , births show when parents married as well as their names . Death certs show maiden name for a woman and certs too show where born , if the informant knew of course

if im write shirley you get a lot more info on the scottish certicates.

lesley love dont worry, the reason i was asking for a year of death was so we could work out what year he was born, another way of doing it was he defitatley born in london, bare with me i am a bit slow memory probs, im sure someone will help, what you could do is delete this and ask on genealogy, there are lots on there that know what there doing, let me know if you find him good luck. :-D
