Jean (Monmouth) Report 23 Jan 2012 19:23

Both OH and I have left what remains after we have had all we want, to my niece as OH has no close relatives left. She says to us, if you can afford what you want, have it, not knowing for sure that we have left anything to her. I didnt want the government to have our money.

Our two told us to enjoy it too. The only thing they worried about was would they be left with a bill when we've gone?? The company we used said it was guaranteed they would'nt:))
Just have to pray now that its true:)

Mau

I know because our ski teams used to go down there to practise in our summer (their winter). Now they often go to places in South America.

We lived in Oz from August 1975 to June 1976 ......... and it was surprisingly cold in Victoria when we first arrived. No central heating either!

Jean thats what i feel, for my mum, its the hospitals fault for my sdad death , we all want mum only, not the goverment to have the damages award , as it is being awarded for the loss of her husband , his wage he would have earnt, the cost of her needing stuff doing that only he did , so she could pay for that help, the cost of the funeral etc, i asked on here if anyone knew a wy around the goverment having the money but noone really new, however she has since found out her damages will be overlooked as its not in heritence, she worked hard all her working life with the man she loved no amount of money will replace him, we all sometimes want a bit of xtra cash but i can honestly say not one of us feels any happines regarding this, i just hope mum gets something she always wanted but new she could never afford.

I was happy to get personal stuff from my parents, worth more than any money they left.

I've got all the pictures...that's all I ever wanted.

..I'm delighted actually... I've just encouraged my Dad to upgrade his car !!!.....he only needed a slight shove bless him...and he's over the moon with his new toy lol....

Now working on my Mum...I want her to have a memory foam mattress next....help her with her back pain.

Shall be working on Dad first thing tomorrow to get her one lol.

No update on the parents of the selfish little s*d.yet..they're still deep in the guilt trip.

Mind you..they're due up for a visit in Feb...so between us all I'm hoping we can persuade them to ignore the grasping wotsit and ENJOY x

My Sister-in-law did not like her parents traveling overseas every year to Canada, Australia, China etc (they had done a big trip a lot earlier) as they got older.. Me being a bit thick didn't realise at the time that she was concerned about her half of the spoils. I thought she was concerned about their health which seemed to be kept in check.

I soon learnt about her money grabbing when an uncle died and my OH was the executor and she wrote and asked how much she was left.. and my OH had to tell her nothing. At his funeral she told me that the Uncle (it was his wife that was the relative) was going to change his will and leave a whole lot to her. I didn't say a word... I had visited him a few weeks before and he had said to me to make sure that said SIL did not get anything of his.

It is actually quite sad really now we have just recently found out that her eldest son has nothing to do with her. He told her so four years ago. We had long ago given up on her as had the rest of her family.

Skiing in Australia... Mt Hotham in Victoria has even had snow in summer...

It is a wonderful mountain and you drive right over the top of it and the skiers are on the slopes practically along side you... and the chair lifts are right there along side you. Only hassle is the putting on and taking off of the chains on your car. Especially on the downward slopes with everyone vying for a stopping bay to take them off in the icy cold and little flurries of snow around your ears.

The ski shop at the base was most welcome... I have never seen such busy toilets.. thank goodness they had facilities.

I love the SKI's ..a quick flick thro' states we all know what it means now

I do joke at times about mother how dare she that's my inheritance ..but I would rather she spend HER money on holidays etc than give it to me to look after her !
I have joked about her spending £600 a week on a care home when it could have been mine ..the truth is it could have been if I was prepared to leave Spain and go and live with her but I wasn't and she needed what she needed and if Mum can afford it who am I to say she shouldn't ..it ain't my money ..infact it ain't even my Dad's (left by a step dad) it's hers and hers alone and what ever she wants to spend it on is okay by me.

I personally would worry if mother "found" somebody else but it's her life not mine
