A STRANGER IS JUST A FRIEND YOU HAVNT MET YET

I have my own thread, which is a bit barmy.

I would welcome others joining in if they wish. We need the thrust and cut of people with a similar barmy outlook.

I sometimes post on others and get an answer, others I am ignored.

Ah well, such is life.

Its not real life, so does it really matter?

I too have only met a few people here, and the people who regularly contribute to my thread I have never met.

so does that make us strangers or friends?

Off to dribble into me hanky.
:-(

Morning Sylvia,

Me, I like lighted hearted threads with plenty of banter,
threads like this one where peoples views can be aired.
SueMaids thread where I pop in every now and again for
a chat and although not on a regular basis have always
been made welcome. OK sometimes things go so fast in
some threads that I'm overlooked, now that bothered me when
I first joined but not any more and just go on to another thread.
Love the Church by the way.

Emma x

socially dominant teenage girls.. :-D :-D :-D I actually like that and probably not far from the truth however my teenage years are far behind me ;-)

When on here it was first suggested that I was " with the in crowd" or part of a clique I felt insulted. I certainly didnt feel that I was. I thought I had always been fair and civil ( bar a few) to others that I didnt class as my close friends. I had never tried to talk over peoples heads when they posted on my threads.
But at a meet once even my OH said Hayley and (named friends) are cliguey . Now it really doesnt bother me, I do try to be civil or just avoid people I know I am going to clash with. I do have my say more I no longer politely nod if my opinion differs so be it, but 9 times out of 10 it will differ from my " cliquely friends as well.

I'm not sure whether a clique is a group of peope you feel you can't join or a group of people who are so interlinked that without realising it they keep people out of their group.

As a fairly newbie (not sure how many years needed not to be) I don't feel there are any cliques on here although there are obvious friends whose banter is very entertaining and I do sometimes wish I could join in with the banter but don't so may that is a clique.

Gone round in circles haven't I

Hi Barbra

Thanks

that's actually a little old church (about 90 - 100 years old) in northern British Columbia. It has no electricity, and heating is by a wood stove ...... and it is packed to the rafters on Christmas Eve for the Carol Service!

Hi all

so we all have differing ideas of what a clique is!

so why is it so often thrown out as an insult?

I've never been accused of being part of a clique on here ...... although one member years ago couldn't get their head around the fact that I was not Janey under a different name :-|

I think that member was male :-D

But I have several times felt that I was looking on a thread that was only for a few people.

Suzanne ............. I've been posting and starting threads on General for years ..... ever since I got over my fear of the "cliques". That must have been, oh, about 2006 :-D
