Aunty Sherlock

I read where Spike mentioned his conversation at Woy Woy....

I also saw him on TV and talking about Woy Woy ... or maybe i read that too, where he said that Woy Woy meant High Water and which Woy was high and which Woy means water.

We have quite a few of his books .. especially like Puckoon.

Persie ;-)

My Dad loved Spike, and had one of his books, 'Monty - His Part in my Victory'. I was quite young when I read it and thought, this guy is seriously daft, lol!

POEM : Indian Boyhood by Spike Milligan

POEM :

What happened to the boy I was?
Why did he run away?
And leave me old and thinking, like
There'd been no yesterday?
What happened then?
Was I that boy?
Who laughed and swam in the bund*
I there no going back?
No recompense?
Is there nothing?
No refund?

I am so laughing you lot.

I think the book is back in the library from whence it came. OH and I had big discussions about the incident last evening. I have to enter the hallowed halls of books on the weekend. While I am there, on another mission, I will take a look see if it is available.

How long was I in the army? Five foot eleven.

LOL.

I spent many years laughing at Harry Secombe's singing until somebody told me that it wasn't a joke.

It is amazing that three so different characters could have their own individual careers and still meld together so successfully as the Goons.

Google the Goons and take a look at some of the excerpts available on the net. Still makes me laugh.

There were four. Mustn't forget Michael Bentine.

This is one of my favourites

Today I saw a little worm
Wriggling on his belly
Perhaps he'd like to come inside
And see what's on the Telly

1952
At the end of the second series, 4 becomes 3 as Michael Bentine leaves to pursue other aspects of his life and career. The shows become more developed with the same characters appearing each week. The madcap comedy, characters and sound effects become more refined. .

You are correct, well initially there was four of them. The above snippet is from the Goon show site.
