Jules, I suggested it before - contact the Red Cross - you can get a commode on loan. When I came out of hospital OH had one already for me - in case I needed it but I never did. |

Jules - re the bucket - do ask your GP/District Nurse to borrow something more suitable. Admittedly you'd still have the emptying problem, but having to 'go' would be more dignified! |

Jules,Please do not worry that you will be out on the street.I work in a homeless hostel and if you have not had a successful bidding by your date to move on the council should put you in a hostel while you carry on bidding. Not nice but better than a pavement. What band are you on and priority date have they given you? Fingers crossed for you. |

Jules- can you get gp or a social worker to chase them up re the urgency of the situation? How about a local councillor - they can be very helpful. |

Jules. My late mother always used to say that something crops up when you least expect it, and if you have patience, everything comes to those who wait. |

Hi Guys, thank you for your messages...I have been to my doc and explained the situation, have also contacted my social worker but nothing seems to make any difference...All the council say is " we have over 14000 people on the waiting list"..... |

Just dawned on me Jules - commodes are available from Red Cross - they only ask for a donation - however small. Would be more confortable for you to use and I would agree with Rose get your GP to write to housing dept - your consultant if you have one. |

Jules, it might be worth asking your doctor to intervene...an acquaintance was 'upped' on the waiting list to 'urgent' status when her doctor wrote to the housing dept outlining how desperate her need was. |
