I don't entirely agree footie lol,

I think 98% of the people I have met are EXACTLY as they are on here... or to be precise...how I have perceived them to be from reading their posts over the years...

everyone at Peterborough which was the last one I went to , was as I thought they would be ( not physically but personality wise).

Julia Report 3 Apr 2011 11:21

As my old Mum would have said, 'There are no hairs and graces here'.
Meaning, what you see with me is what you get. No, I am no different on here then I would be in real life, or face to face. I have no need to pretend to be anything or anyone other, than I am. If I am at times abrupt in my words, I am afraid that is how we are around here, abit like Yorkshire lads and lasses. But, if I am put on, I will not put up with it, and will bide my time, till it suits me. They say an elephant never forgets LOL
I read all the posts re the Peterborough meet last years and thought I would have liked to have gone to that. When I read all the posts after, and then saw the photo's I was most green with envy.
BC. ....... what you got, that we havn't. I reckon they wanted you to introduce them to those young BUCKS you are after.LOL
Ron......... I hope your Shrewsbury meet goes well and you all have a lovely day.

Actually the one person I have met, without even seeing a photo of, who was EXACTLY as I imagined them to be looks wise is BC :)) and personality too :)) She always reminds me of this part of a poem ;)

"Gin and chicken helpless in her Irish hand,
Irresistible as Rabelais, but most tender for
The lame dogs and hurt birds that surround her -
She is a procession no one can follow after
But be like a little dog following a brass band."

Rambling Report 3 Apr 2011 11:44

well we all have thngs going on in real life, that make us who we are, that we don't nec' bring to the boards or to the meets ...

just as when people phone me and I say "I'm fine!" ...when I'm really NOT... someone said to me the other day they liked phoning me because I "always cheered them up " ....me being 'cheery' with them, is just me not wanting to spread my misery to other people lol.

I've met you Dizzi and it was wonderful!!! O)))

I've been to Meets, met so many lovely friends many of whom are in my real life like family now and would love to meet others. With all of us spread all over the place, meeting in the middle would be good Dizzi but where's the middle?!

I can't attend the Shrewsbury Meet but would have had no hesitation in going if I was able.

Me ... those of you who've met me know that I'm similar to Shimms in that I'm 'dippy' lol yet luv to party, have a sense of humour and more. What you see with me is what you get.

Must speak soon Dizzi big sis

Dizzi

Hope you enjoy Shrewsbury. Did youmean you travelled 400 miles on your own. That's brave. As i get older I've lost my confidence to travel too far from home.

I'm close to Peterborough but goodness I am alarmed at the remarks made above. Do people really take things so seriosuly, cause rows and be frosty to each other.

I'm new to the boards and enjoy my chats and sometimes my differneces of opinion but thought they ended on the boards and weren't taken personally.

Regards

Vera

Vera, don't let it put you off going, there are very few arguments that go further than snarling on here lol.

If you go to Peterborough or any meet in fact I am sure you will have a great time and be made very welcome :)

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 3 Apr 2011 16:57

Vera...there's never been any trouble at the P/Boro meets...just some silly people before the meet making comments on the threads to try and wind folk up..please don't worry about anything like that....we're a VERY friendly bunch.

It would be lovely to meet you on 7th May if you are able to make it x

Uggers Report 3 Apr 2011 17:23

Sorry Muffy, I shouldn't really have said that about meets looking cliquey cos it's probably not fair at all - some of the meets do look more like a group of mates meeting up - I know the London ones I used to go to were like that - but I've never known or heard of anyone going to a meet and not being made welcome.

5exy, to me the whole Shrewsbury meet thing has looked like a wind up from the start. If you wanted it, you'd organise it

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 3 Apr 2011 17:35

No problems Uggers.

A lot of my "real life but met through cyber" friends no longer post on here so it would have been very easy for me to just keep it close and arrange a private meet via FB or something...but I genuinely like meeting new people ...we all do.

Shame you don't do meets anymore...We could have done a Then Jericho tribute act after a bottle or two of the strong stuff *grins*
