LOl, I never know what to put on forms, for my family & me,
I'm 1/2 Scottish , 1/2 English , oh is 1/2 Irish . 1/4 American , 14 Chinese. so what does that make our children ,

I was furious that they had very other UK race, but not English!!
They should either have had all four,or just British.
It seemed they (whoever 'they' may be) felt it was not the 'done thing' to declare the fact that you were actually English!
I almost had a feeling that I was 'letting down' the country's multi-culturalism!!
Well sorry -not my fault - blame the bleeding ancestors!!! LOL

Does anyone else loathe the word 'Brits'? I detest it , it is even used on news reports. What is wrong with saying British?

Personally I am English and do not want to be as European. Thanks for the info Maggie I knew there was some reason I was being bolshie on the form and wrote English for OH and self.

On the last census you could be Irish, Scottish,Welsh or British!!!
I crossed out British and wrote English - if every other part of the UK can be Nationalistic,so can the English!!

I find it a bit strange that some are not sure of their nationality of which they should be rightly proud to loudly proclaim to the world at every opportunity.

What have I misunderstood?

Myself, my OH and my children will all be English and we will score out any option and replace it as such if we need to.

Sadly under religion my OH and youngest daughter will be classifying themselves as *jedi knights*

Myself and eldest won't be putting anything lol x

Already challenged that one ... British, White British ... depends on parentage and more. After my conversation with them I knew what to write but it made no sense to me. Hey ho, here I go again lol ....

what will you enter under nationality? Seem to recall in 2001 a campaign on in order to specify 'british'.
