I'm sure most of us have a treasured possession that has been passed down from the family. What is yours? |

I haven't a great deal but I have my grandfather's tobacco jar made of pewter. I have been trying to find out how old it might be but haven't had any luck. I keep my fuses for the house in it so it is doing a very useful job . I also have two napkin rings made of ivory, each with the initial of my great grandparents. I believe they were a wedding present when they got married in 1849.....no family silver though....shucks- jl |

Yes Sue my most treasured possession are 2 medals my grandfather won at the Royal Tournament in front of the then King & Queen. They were for tent pegging, and lemon cutting which was done on horseback. My mother told me that you had to cut a lemon in half with a sword, but my grandad would practive with a quarter. |

Mine is my Great Great Grandmother's engagement ring. It a solid 24 carat gold band inset with a diamond and 2 sapphires and beautiful. My Nan gave it to me for my 21st Birthday as I was the oldest granddaughter. I have always loved this ring and now that I am interested in genealogy it has become even more precious. |

I think mine has to be the Christening Gown and shawl. The gown is well over a hundred years old now ,and is too fragile to be worn anymore. The last to wear it was my son 25 years ago. |

What a lovely thread! I have rings that belonged to each of my grannies, I wear them all the time and feel them close to me. I have my Mum's wedding ring, which I had made easily into a pendant, I got a jeweller to solder a largish ring on the wedding ring so it will hang on a chain, and then had a little pearl drop fixed on the inside so it look like it's in a frame. |

I have a ruby and diamond ring that my father bought my mother for their ruby wedding anniversary. I also have a Mizpah ring which I bought many years ago, as my father had the word Mizpah tattooed on his arm. |

My mothers wedding ring became my daughters wedding ring, she was the closest to her grandma. My grandma's fob watch, and rings etc from my Mum. Thing that means the most though is a Christmas decoration of a glow in the dark cherub!!! It still glows after 62 years!!!!!!!!! My brother thinks its probably radio active he he. |
