Caz, thank you for letting us know about Joyce. I really hope that she'll feel better very soon

Like a few others on here, I still feel that the doctor should have done more and sent her to the hospital so that they could find out what the problem really is.

Sorry to go on again Caz, I know that you are only relaying the message from Joyce, but I'm so annoyed with the doctors there.

I hope things are a bit easier with you today, and not in as much pain. When do you go to see the Oncologist next?

Thank you all for your concern, I have been making a card so only just got back to computer. Like Rose and Sallie I am getting so frustrated with her doctor, I feel like screaming down the phone to Joyce telling her to go shake him up, of course I can't do that. She said herself he isn't as good as her last one but he moved away, Jan is very worried about her, he didn't go to see his mother on Sunday, which is unknown Joyce says, because he didn't want to leave her. I'm surprised he doesn't get the doctor to send her for tests. There has to be more to it than the doctor says. I will speak to her tomorrow and let you know.

Sallie I go at the end of this month after a CT scan, at least I am having a rest from the chemo and feet have stopped peeling.

Speaking as someone who is also long term diabetic, as is OH 44yrs in his case, there is a condition known as Diabetic Neuropathy, which can affect the bowel and cause the kind of thing Joyce is suffering from. If this is her problem she needs daily medication to keep it at bay. Those interested, google it and read the information on symptoms and treatment. Some doctors need convincing abot this.

Sorry to hear Joyce is in so much pain, I hope the treatment works soon. She must be worn out by now.

Hope Joyce is starting to feel better if the medication is working, I know how tired she has been lately so little strength to fight the doctors with,bless her.

Jean thank you for that piece of information about diabetis and bowel. I will google it soon as it does sound a bit (lot) like what Joyce is going through. I will be speaking to her in about an hour and half so will let you know the latest. Anyone who talks to Joyce on the phone knows that she loves talking to people, yesterday she said a friend had phoned late at night as usual but she wished she wouldn't as she doesn't want to talk, that is certainly not our Joyce.

Liz I meant to say it's ok to ring, I was getting a bit worried as you haven't been on for a while.

Hi everyone, I spoke to Joyce and she is still the same, and in bed. The medicine the doctor gave her is working but she is having trouble breathing, it hurts and she said her ribs are sore. It will be the cough thats doing it but doc gave her some tablets for it.
Jean I told her about what you said and the name but she said she has always had a blockage well before she got diabetis, she has been in hospital twice with it, I tried anyhow.
I told her there was a thread for her and you have sent a lot of messages and she thanks you, she will look when she puts her computer on, she is not up to it at the moment.
I must have a cuppa then do as my doc tells me and go to bed with the foot raised for a couple of hours, I resented it at first but who else can spend afternoon in bed on doctors orders, lol.

Just had a call from Joyce, she told Jan about what Jean had said and Jan is going to have a word with the doctor, I sent him the proper name that Jean pmd me and he is looking on google for it. He said Joyce only started with this blockage after she started with diabetis so it's looking like it could be, so Jan sends his thanks Jean.

Hi Joyce, if you look in, I am sure Caz will have told you o.h. is unwell so I am stuck with him at home till Monday :>((

He has a u.t.i. so is not a happy bunny, I just went up and woke him to take his next antibiotic, such a pathetic face on him lol

Hope you are starting to feel better or that Jan has stuck a rocket behind your doc to do more to help you.

I spoke to Joyce at lunchtime and she is no better, in fact may be slightly worse, the pain in her tummy is awful but her back and lungs are feeling better now she doesn't cough so much. She has to ring the doctor tomorrow to let him know how she is, I've no idea what he will do as she is still bad, but he needs to do something quickly. Jan looked on the internet last night at the name Jean gave us and he agrees it could be whats wrong with Joyce so he is going to have a word with the doctor about it.
There's not a lot more I can say, except she is very weak now, at least she is able to keep taking sips of water now.
