*gets despondent......So,Ms Claire, a reply to a problem like 'get a life', 'windya neck in' and 'shut ya gob' and suchlike, would not be deemed appropriate? Even if meant with sincerity and a degree of helpfulness?

Dear Buttercup Fields,

It is possible that on certain occasions your rather robust approach may be just what is needed. Between you and I in the past we have found Claire's softer style rather irritating, it may well be time for a change of tack. Telling it like it is and to "Pull yoursef" together can, in our opinion, bring results. Genuine problems have of late been squeezed out by the influx of rather self-pitying whingeing ones which could be best solved with tough love.

Please reply directly to Soulsearching Ltd if responding to this...Claire has been a valued member of our team and we don't want to upset the old bat...erm lady...before her leaving party.

Well, that sounds very honest to me, BC..

The bit that I worry about is the *no dependency on alcohol or drugs* so that rules me out... not the alcohol, as I don't often indulge anymore... but what with my BP tablets, and the painkillers etc.... oh, and what about all the drugs that some people who have a disability need to take, to maintain a normal life?

*frets cos the terms and contitions are actually what is that word? it escapes me... oh yes, discriminatory*

Otherwise I would apply for the post... maybe there would be a place for me in the *hug your pet today* section? I am very very good at that ;¬))

Love

Daff xxxx

Rambling Report 1 Aug 2010 11:33

Dear Mrs Daff

We have noted your comments in respect of 'drugs' and will amend our wording on the job description form forthwith.

We did mean of course mean the term "drugs" to apply to non-prescription drugs of a mind altering nature and was not intended to deter those with a medical condition from applying, Indeed the experience of someone with a medical condition is always a valuable asset in terms of experience and understanding for others.

Re alchohol, it is expected that the successful applicant will approach this in a sensible fashion, never being under the influence of it whilst at work, or 'on call'.

Sends in CV as it's second nature, and checks list.

Enhanced CRB available,

My years of customer service experience, where I speak slowly and clearly without being patronising, and keeping my voice level at all times even when someone is threatening me down the phone, should go some way to showing a proven track record of patience and tolerance.

I'm human, so even my patience and tolerance runs out at times, though not before I have at least TRIED to help

Dependence on drink or drugs. Himmmmm...well I do like the occasional bucket....err.....small glass of Merlot or Shiraz...especially with dinner...does that count?

Drugs, ...err paracetamol?

I can be patient and soothing to any distressed person, even with BC behind me shouting 'ahhh woind yer neck in, or I'll get Seamus onto yer so oi will,' and Hayley behind her having a hissy fit.

Then again, I'm off when me subs run out...so this will only be temporary.

Rambling

Rambling Report 1 Aug 2010 12:54

It must be noted ( when I've stopped laughing re "Seamus" LOL) that this IS a permanent post and may not be suited to someone looking for a temporary position.

Only those willing to "suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles. And by opposing, end them" should consider applying.

On consideration, this position may be suited to job-sharing, and joint applications will be considered.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 1 Aug 2010 12:58

Sorry, I don't do joints... strip joints, spliffy stuff, hip joints, whatever.... not a *joint* type of girl... oh, I tell a porky... I do have a joint account at the bank.. hubby earns, I play with his hard earned dosh... seems fair enough to me... he is the silent partner, lol!

Love

Daff xxxx
