Dear Cathy and Claire,

It has been a while since I last wrote to yu and asked yur advice. Plz can yu advise me in persuasion of another. I am a member of this forum - I don't always behave myself but then niether do others so its alright. The problem is a good member who everyone respects (including me) has decided to take her leave of us and possibly not return. Plz can yu advise me how I could ask her to stay without letting her know I actually like her and find the poetry she writes moving and the debates she joins in on informative and some of her other posts very funny. How can I tell her how many lives she has touched and how without her these boards will be exactly that - bored.

As one half of the 'Cathy and Claire' team I am sorry to say the duo were irrevocably seperated by an act of personal betrayal so vile it remains unprintable in a family magazine.

That overwhelming disappointment in the betrayal of loyalty, friendship and decency was enough by itself, but further examples of the same selfish attitude have, regrettably, surfaced on a regular basis in my letters and led to me reviewing my career..

The position of problem page 'auntie' is therefore open.

Also plz can yu advise me what the do re the member who plans to leave? How can I advise her otherwise? Bearing in mind its not just myself but others will miss her too?

It is refreshing to see such humility, footie,about all the mistakes you have made. But I think it will take more than a grovel or two to change the course of events.

Dear Claire,

on further consideration I have decided to put forward an application re the "Cathy" post. If successful I feel I could work as an agony "aunt" in a different area of experties. I have not got a head for poetry nor on for debating sensitive issues. I do however, have the type of head that enjoys sport and fun sometimes at the same time (not often with my team lol). I feel it would be a good move to employ me in the realm of agony "aunt" as I know how to address situations re sport and fun and could phone a friend regards debates and poetry. I say look no further.
