i caught up in the nastiness as well it was all so surreal so many lies told and fabricated i was very hurt until i realised that these were very sad people pointing fingers.. and i walked away from it feeling sorry that they had nothing else in their lives

i have moved on now......

I got caught up in all the nastiness for awhile but I didn't like the me that came out when the nasties were about. I sat back and watched for awhile and made my own mind up about who's who. I don't see much of that going on now - just the occasional spat and that doesn't last long.

This site went down hill fast ........when the nasty blogs appeared ........ dragging gr down with them.......somewhere down right evil.....i made my mind up then .......this site was not the site .....to make friends .......and I only use it if I am bored at work.... there are some nice peple here ....But you never know whos real and whos not....

i think theres too many pressing the button for a deletion of thread.theres always someone whinning saying oh that was aimed at me blah blah blah.when it was,nt.
i go on threads that interest me or my friends threads .i usually avoid someone who i think intends to deliberatly bait .cos its easier.and less hassle.
i also find it more fun elsewhere sometimes.
i like games on facebook so i play there alot.in between doing my tree.
3 years ago i was glued to genes.not now .i like to see if my mates are ok.and check my hot matches.

I've been on here for years ....in fact it was the first web site that I ever ventured onto . I've never felt much inclined to post on other sites ( except FB ) .......I didn't use the chat or general board here until about three years ago .

Things do change ...folk leave for one reason or another and new folk arrive.......the Internet is a transient place ........GR is a bit odd in as much as it has a sort of mainstay of folk.......I think the inhabitants of the boards are rather like a reflection of " families ".....there will always be the favoured lively ones and the moany groany ones...... but they all make up the ever shifting whole .

just what do GR spend our membership fees on?

Courtesy is something that is often not considered. If someone has an opinion that differs from the majority that person can sometimes be ridiculed and ostracised. However on the other hand there are one or two people here who always think any criticism is aimed at them and that every thread is another attempt to belittle them. Egotistical or paranoid?

If you want my opinion, this site is outdated, and way past it's sell-by-date.

I post on lots of other sites, and they wont' tolerate any of the stuff that goes on here, and they are far better, far more informative than this one, and as Joy said, most of them are free!

I seem to post more on other sites nowadays, such as digital spy, rootschat and other family history ones, and others; all free :-)

other sites are free to use and don't have all these problems.. i think this site is over expensive and overrated to be truthful
