What has changed so much?
I know a few have left as they got fed up with the bickering.
I cant say I've noticed much lately. Maybe that's why it's so quiet lol

Marion I think the fact that it has got so quiet has stopped some from returning.
The fact that jokey threads could be used to ridicule some stopped those.
The fact that some post and everybody jumps on them is dwindling them down and if you take all of them out, then it gets so quiet everybody else stops posting, then those who answered the quiet ones don't post because they have nothing to answer.

and in the end it isn't the same. But this site has been the same a few times and then it was revived by new people ..mind it's never been like this before ,

Edit to say and if you try to tell a joke, that all would laff at some cretin reports it gets you banned and stops you trying that again !

Hi

I know some who added jokes got fed up with them be reported, some for no reason.
I dont know much about FB and blogs etc but I dont think that helped either, with things going between the there and GR.
I can see how some got fed up with the bickering from there being dragged onto here.

i think if you give people nothing to laugh at
they forget how to laugh and the bickering starts

come on gr lets drag the funny people back from the shadows
and lets have some fun threads
with the fun people to teach us how to laugh again

Personally I think it's because the 'balance' has gone?

There have always been silly threads and sensible threads...some of the 'silly' ones I found a bit too silly lol so there were always the 'sensible' ones to choose... and they were livened up ( for me ) by some who have now left , just adding a bit of spice with alternative views, but keeping it polite and not too 'personal'.

xx

Rambling Report 21 Jul 2010 18:40

and the other thing for me is that I used to post on 'anyone's' thread without having to think first...

"Now is Y friendly with X or if X comes on the thread and I speak to X is Y going to PM me to tell me all the reasons I shouldn't be speaking to X" lol

and as for mentioning 'Z' well that's just a no no lol

Joy I often try to change the balance with my mutt (fun) threads think about it I'm hardly gonna let her suffercate (sp) in a shoe, so for me to put that up meant it was fun.

or a song at the end of the night I used to ind amusing o finding near knuckle ones on the days events, but even I am wary of putting the wrong thing up.
Where has the sense of humour gone ....IT HAS NOT just been dwindled away

Rose there is that also.

skwirrel

skwirrel Report 21 Jul 2010 18:48

I would had thought you would ignore such PMs Rose, main problem here was the 'I don't post on your threads so don't you post on mine' attitude.

That was told to many of us when we tried to post....others see it and it must put them off too.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 21 Jul 2010 18:50

Joy ,yes eveyone should be allowed to have threads with the biggest load of rubbish on them...long as its giving some a giggle and is causing no harm.

Rose..I agree X would not be happy if you spoke to Y lol
We should all be able to speak to who we like. We cant all be 'best pals'all the time.

Joy Report 21 Jul 2010 18:50

People have said "it's not the same on here" for all the six years that I have been a member of this site.

Rambling

Rambling Report 21 Jul 2010 18:54

I do Gill lol,

I talk to people as politely ( I hope, try to) as politely as they talk to me...if i get a pm or someone says "I don't like ****** " then if that person has always been ok with me, I usually say so. By the same token I won't 'like' someone who's been hateful to me or someone else just because someone I like, likes them lol.

UzziAndHerDogs

UzziAndHerDogs Report 21 Jul 2010 18:55

sorry Gill I don't agree that, that is a problem.

The don't post on mine and I won't post on yours came from your era ...previous to that it was just excepted that if you didn't like you didn't post,

Now I agree the concept was always there, your era didn't invent it at all, but it worked, without telling and dragging every mate, persona into play.

The problem now is the RR button you could say.

skwirrel

skwirrel Report 21 Jul 2010 18:57

'My era'...I have been with this site since it opened I don't have 'my era', or are you saying that I am different from everyone else.

UzziAndHerDogs

UzziAndHerDogs Report 21 Jul 2010 19:00

Now I might have to take against marion 'cos she hasn't mentioned me ...

If I did wouldn't that make me rather stupid or paranoid ..she answered the others but not me therefore I don't like her.

What a stupid attitude that would be, wouldn't it ?

YES but sometimes that's all it takes..

s'okay Marion I wouldn't tek again'st ya ..(lol I can't even spell it right)

UzziAndHerDogs

UzziAndHerDogs Report 21 Jul 2010 19:04

Gill you do have an 'era' you may have been on this site since the year dot but I assure you when I joined your head was tucked in quiet. You blossomed then, should we say with a few others, not all your friends, but about the same time, at a later date.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 21 Jul 2010 19:06

Goes down on knees....sorry Uzzi lol

Just going to look back. When i get lots of replies..i get lost lol

Rambling

Rambling Report 21 Jul 2010 19:06

I do still. by and large, like the same people I first liked when I joined ( though some of them have left) but I have realised , and that goes for the internet generally) that not everyone is as honest and straightforward as they appear...or as nice as they would like people to believe lol, that is the same as 'real life'...but it's still a disappoinment when you have trusted someone, and 'fought their corner' and they let you down, big time.

But in a general way, most chat type boards I have looked at, when looking for somewhere other than here, are the same... nice, nasty, boring, funny lol.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 21 Jul 2010 19:12

Joy Aka Marion your right, it has been said for years.

Rambling

Rambling Report 21 Jul 2010 19:12

Gill I don't think you should take the phrase 'your era' personally... I see my 'era' as 2007 to 2008...that is when my best friends were on here, and I often laughed till I cried :) it isn't my era now...but that doesn't mean there is no one nice left to speak to.
