Hi Everyone
Glad I didn't switch on this morning as it seems that everyone was having trouble.
Had a mini crisis last night as telephone stopped working. It was connected to som, ething and would not clear down. Thankfully the BT internet site was very helpful and it had a video of what to do. We did have an old telephone so could check the line and this was ok. Finally unplugged the new system for awhile and it corrected itself thankfully.Worth bearing in mind that, unless you want to bother your neighbours,( if you have any) you do need a spare phone just to check that the line is ok. This is not a good time for communication to break down!!
We both have mobiles but tend to switch them off whilst at home but not last night.
Have spoken to DIL today and she is very weary, baby very active, fully engaged and ready for action but still happy where it is ( it must be a boy)
For the next couple of days both hubby and I are busy out and about so its bound to do something then. I hoped it might have put in an appearance today as it would have been my fathers birthday but maybe not.
Have spent some time this afternoon doing Franks trick i.e. reading in the conservatory. Am enjoying John Barrowmans story very much and its an easy read.
Mel Delighted to hear that you have found the keys at last.
Jane Pleased to hear that the tooth is settling down. My UTI is taking a long time to settle but I have pills until the end of the week so still time to go. I am not a lover of cold drinks but am drinking gallons of Peach and Barley water and eating Cranberries.

It was another lovely morning here but the cloud is just beginning to gather( boo hiss as they say )but the garden is crying out for rain
Frank You be careful out there and thanks for the brilliant messages.

Just come in for a cuppa and a hot cross bun.

OH is still trying to get this huge tree stump out. It is much bigger than both of us thought. It is a bloomin old weed tree (sycamore). I shoudl really take a photo because people just would'nt believe how a stump could be so big. It was a multi stemmed tree and OH cut it down some years ago as he was frightened it would fall on the house. It was growing on a bank.

Hi everyone.
Seems that GR had problems this morning while I was slaving away over a hot iron,I needed to finish the ironing as I was at a funeral this afternoon, One of our elderly ladies who sings in the church choir past away last Tuesday evening, she had been in hospital since the weekend. and I just got hear about the funeral arrangements yesterday.

Weather wise it was frosty this morning but has been sunny and mild, almost could say nearly warmish this afternoon.
Still no baby Anne , your poor DIL must be exhausted by now when is her due date again?

Jane

Jane Report 28 Mar 2011 17:49

Mel could you not make a feature out of the stump ,or is it just not suitable?I really didn't think you would find your Trailer Key.Well Done!!

It is lovely now,a bit late in coming but I won't complain.Tomorrow morning I have to take both Hannah and Chris to the station. He goes one way to Birmingham (I think that's where he's going) and Hannah the other way to London. That will confuse Chester ,us all going out together that early lol.He will have to wait for his morning snuggle on the bed.

Anne,I would have been having kittens with no phone working especially at this time .Your poor DIL must be wondering when on earth this baby will make its entrance. Not forgetting your son too.We always forget about the men.
Rachel (in Dubai) has been told to be prepared and have everything ready from the second week of May onwards. That seems a month earlier than they thought. One good thing it has got her Hubby to realise he has to pull his finger out and get things done.I think he thought he had forever and it has given him a bit of a fright.

Can anyone tell me how to clean my TV screen???????I have one of those silky cloths that they say to dampen with water and gently wipe. But it leaves streaks and water marks and it looks dreadful.I am scared of scratching the screen.

My dinner is smelling soooo good.Chicken Breasts marinaded in oilve oil, lemon zest, lemon juice ,garlic and lemon Thyme. In a minute I will put in Charlotte Potatoes cut in half, carrots, red onion and courgettes drizzled in olive oil, with sprigs of Rosemary and Thyme.

We haven't heard from Sheila for a while have we?I hope she is well.

Jane I am drooling at the mouth at the thought of your tea. We will be eating out tonight but as it is a meeting meal it won't be as good as your meal sounds.
Yes our son is getting very stressed now as he is looking after Hazel when grandparents are not around as well as working.
Fiona The due date was only yesterday but, with the scare a couple of weeks ago and the consultant saying that she would not go to full term, the saga has gone on for ages now. DIL was happy to do very little at first but is now finding life very difficult indeed and she can hardly walk about as she is so huge still it cannot go on much longer.
I seem to have nothing else to talk about as I cannot stop worrying about them all and I just wish everything was over.
Mel Our tree stump is now sitting on the grass waiting for another pair of hands to help lift it as it is too heavy for hubby so do be careful.

Mel I bet you couldn't believe your eyes when you saw the key!! If your OH is like mine he will have said, you'll never find it!!

Opened tonight's paper and they have arrested people from the traveller's site up the road for..........keeping people as slaves!!!!!! There are others from other sites too and it said they took in people off the streets. I can't believe it. We were only saying the other day how nice, clean and tidy the site looks.......no wonder. lol

Jane

Jane Report 28 Mar 2011 18:33

No Frank ,no slow cooker today.Just the Fan Oven.I like Brussels ,it's BROAD BEANS that I just do not like.I blame that on my Mum,being forced to eat them when I was a little girl. They used to make me gag.I can still picture me peeling off the skins and putting them all around the side of the plate and then being left with the slimy bean.I would try and hide them in mashed potato.I can eat them now without feeling sick but given the choice they would not be on my plate lol.Chris says he is growing loads of them this year !!!!
My sister used to gag on Mash potato.Even now she won't eat it unless it is almost liquid ,with not a lump

Did anyone see the Childrens School Choir competition on TV on Sunday? It was wonderful.Hannah was in the school choir in senior school and went to America on a tour.I was as proud as punch.Started in North Carolina and ended up in DisneyWorld(is that Florida)? I can't think.

There is not a breath of wind outside,it is a lovely evening. But I think it is going to another chilly night

Oh dear Fiona ,another funeral.I hope it was ok for you.

Maureen were you sunbathing in your Bikini??.Now you are lovely and slim and toned lol.I did notice the lady next door this afternoon sat out on her terrace in a sleeveless top and her Beany hat lol.I don't think she would have got sunstroke.

Jane Report 28 Mar 2011 18:47

Ann,that is terrible. We had the same thing here a month or so ago.It wasn't travelers though .It was people traffickers.I know it all happens in this country but it is almost beyond comprehension.Apparently it is the same with trafficking Children for the perverts(can't spell peodophiles) They get passed around from place to place to different people to be used.I won't say here what I think as I will be banned for life, and that won't do lol

These PERVERTS/traffickers, should be bought to book, Give my a try, i wouuld sort it out !!!! You know my feelings JANE !!!

I have been in shorts and bare chested this afternoon. The sun was quite warm. Turned colder now, but it's still March

Jane Report 28 Mar 2011 20:34

Well dinner was scrummy .Clean plates all round.Poor Chester was left with nothing.
Frank yes I know your feelings lol.But a lot of these perverts etc are home grown (so to speak).

I make a Brownies Promise to try and like BROAD BEANS more this year lol.Not sure I will keep the promise though lol

Annx Report 28 Mar 2011 20:46

I hated broad beans as a child and I'm very fussy how I have them now. Mum used to do them with bacon or gammon steaks, egg and scallops of potato. Picked very small and warmed in the bacon fat, they lost the bitter taste. Now I would never buy them as they are always too large and with the chewy skins I hated. One of my fav veg is purple sprouting broc, but the plants grow quite big and would take up a lot of space here.

Have you tried one of those microfibre cloths on your tv screen Jane. I seem to use them for most things these days including cleaning my specs when I'm at home. lol I would have loved your dinner too.Sorry to hear your tooth's been playing up again.......hope the infection clears soon.

When I came home there was a big pigeon perched on one of my pots up the garden. It looked a bit 'plumped up', so I tiptoed up the garden to see if it was hurt. It let me get right close to it before it moved and it's feathers looked in good condition so I thought it may be a racing pigeon having a rest. Anyway it flew onto the shed roof ok and onto next doors shed, but I couldn't see if it was ringed or not.

Jane Funeral was ok. not so emotional as others I've been too.
The family had a quiet service at the crematorium, just close family were there, then a thanksgiving service in church after for everyone who wanted to pay their respects, a bit strange back to front, but it seems this was the wishes of the lady who had passed away. she had had a stroke about 3or 4 years ago and since then she had slowed right down but was a very independent lady and it was mentioned in church in a fond sort of way that she was determined to cope with things as best as she could without any fuss from family or friends, seemingly she was a headmistress at one of the local schools in her working days ,not so surprising I remember she was very good at organising people to get the job done and get it done right,

We are suppose to be getting heavy rain for the next week or so , didn't think the sun would last long , but the garden does need watering.

I am going to go and watch the TV so I'll say goodnight Be back tomorrow
Night night

Good Morning everyone

I feel like I have up for hours. It is a beautiful morning, low lying mist over the fields and a huge sun.The mist is clearing now so I think it be a great walk with Chester in a while. He is all muddled, with me going off early then coming back and getting into bed again. He pestered me ,so I got up and gave him his breakfast which he normally doesn't have until after his walk.He will no doubt be looking for more when we get back lol
See you later

Morning Jane and all,

Well we have rain today or had in the night. It ia dull and dreary with a grey sky. I am glad I did the border yesterday and am going shopping today. It is not showing signs of brightening at all.

Jane bet Chester was a bit muddled this morning with you going out early and I also bet he was so pleased to see you return.

Fiona the service sounded nice for your friend.

I don't think I ever had broad beans as a child. The only time I used to get them when older was in a bag of mixed frozen veg.

Morning playmates,

Trust you are all well.

We were up with the larks, this morning. Ros had a 9 am check up appointment at the hospital. We were back indoors before 10.00.

Yesterday I ordered some bits for my greenhouse from a chap in Yorkshire. He wouldn't let me pay by C/card. He said I will send you an invoice with the bits. How very trusting. Don't find that around much these days.

Had the NEW Steam Generator Iron turn up this morning, together with new tyre for Lewis's bike. Thats a job I will try to do later. (PUT IT ON) 12.27pm Tyre on but now I find the pump is bugg#### leaking as you pump up.

Morning All,

Bright but fairly cool here which suits me fine as I shall be in the garden for a while with more marking canes and pegs deciding where the new side borders will go and making a start on them. Parts of the one on the left weren't deep enough before and the shrubs soon overhung the edges. I'm having to rethink it all now, but the good thing is we hadn't got it finished last year. The soil here is lovely to work with, the best of anywhere I lived before, a big plus.

I can just picture Chester looking for his second breakfast Jane!! lol A lovely morning for his walk......plenty of bunny smells for him. When we went in the back field last week we noticed a rabbit hole near the back of our fence at the edge of the brambles. They are usually right across the field under the hedge so we were surprised.

That sounds like a lovely lady Fiona and nice that she got her wishes for her funeral.

Well, I better put my 'back garden old clothes' on now. OH will be back soon and I want him to think I've been toiling out there for ages!!!! lol There are new cows at the back so I suppose I will have an audience for a while as the new ones always come to have a look!!

Frank ,you must have enough wind to pump up that tyre lol.It is good to know that there are still people who are trustworthy isn't it.That man doesn't know you from Adam.

Ann,do you have posh old clothes for wearing in the front garden ? lolol.Do the cows come right up to your fence and pop their heads over?
I always feel uncomfortable when I go past the field with new cows in.Sometimes there can be 20 or 30 of them all coming towards me ,and they can get a bit jittery.I think they are sometimes curious about Chester.

Mandy have they forgotten to send you an appointment for your XRay?

I have ironed and weeded this afternoon so now deserve a nice cup of tea.
