I believe my ancestor John Holmes was one of the original shareholders. Can anyone confirm this or have any other information about the start up of the company?

If you Google Leyland Motors you will find the Wikipedia link with the history of Leyland or you can try the link for www.aronline.co.uk [austin rover online] Which has a history for British Leyland.
