Recently i have receiived two emails, one from GR the other some kind of watchdog who suggested I answer postings directed to me.
Fair enough, but I do not take my computer on hols and my inbox is emptied almost immediately everyday. However it would be nice to know if the 8 emails awaiting reply sent by me in the past 6 weeks and still not opened have had the same treatment.

Looks like spring has arrivd here on the Med at long last, a really lovely morning outside,so bye for now, Derek in France

Good morning Derek in France:o)) not seen your name in ages and ages!! Hope you're well??

l have had the same email, l just deleted it. It was mentioned on here some time ago. l suppose there must be alot of people who do not respond to messages and have no intentions of doing so, preseumebly the email is aimed at them!! l would think people have asked GR to do something about the problem and this is their response.

So far I'm getting the feeling that men are getting more upset by it and women are just ignoring it. I wonder if it's a gender thing? :))

I've had those too. It is like being sent to the headmaster's office. After all - it isn't against the law to either not answer or delay your answer for whatever reason.

GR should get their own house in order first,

I suggest instead of sending emails to current members(who pay their dues)They should be sending emails to members that haven't paid for years.(about 5yrs)
Yes I know there will be members who only put their trees on and don't pay GR the Subscription and don't come back to even look at their trees.

These are the people who GR should be targetting to either delete their trees or encourage them to pay a subscription.

But It's time that GR used a bit of commonsense

Better still,
those non renewed-"fly by night tree builders" with just maybe one entry and one post should be removed from the site.....on the grounds that they likely have NO interest in furthering their tree, or contacts....an Email to the last known address if not responded to, say in 3 to 6 months...and Poof! its gonn!! I have rellies that have had several false starts.....ie 1 name in a tree... and havent been back since.......ONE forgot her password and has since (5 years ago)lost interest!only herself in the tree.....

another little matter of people who have passed on to the great tree in the sky, I have two cousins still on GR who have been dead for several years, when approached GR shied away, even though I offered to take over the names. Perhaps that is too complicated as well.
Never mind, for me it is still the best value for money. Lots of info and help, thanks to you all, Derek

Like you Derek I was a little miffed when I received that email from GR
especially as it arrived just after I had replied to 3 people, Posted 1 message on the Boards and researched a query for a person on the Boards. Being a member since 2004 I come to this site nearly everyday.
Once I calmed down I realised that it was a general message not one aimed at me personly but they could have added a disclaimer like that which appears on some Bills i.e If you have already made payment thank you please ignore this request .
