Do you Canadians have any money left to budget after the Winter Olympics?

Email our Treasurer I think we have some left in the slush fund.

we have the Provincial Budget coming down tomorrow ................... reported estimates of the deficit being either $1.3 billion or $1.7 billion


and then the Federal Budget coming down on Thursday ............ no reported estimates of the size of the deficit.



Prime Minister and provincial Premier had a news conference this morning announcing money for new transit and road initiatives. Multi millions to be given over the next 5 or so years.


This is before the budgets, when the Prime Minister has been saying this is the toughest budget he's ever had to deal with, and they've spent more time on this than on any other

........... but, he has spent most of the last 2 weeks swanning around Olympic venues. Looking sour as all get out most of the time ............... he hardly ever cracked a smile, and never seemed to be enthusiastic about any events. But,hey ................. it got his mug on the front pages and the tv news!

The Premier did the same thing .............. but he was always smiling widely, waving flags, cheering etc .........which got HIS mug on the news



Wonder if we'll ever actually see those initiatives?!

This political talk is just the thing to cheer up "you know who".

We are in the midst of a State Election. Now they have worked out how many election posters may be stuck on each roadside pole, and at what height.

Our TV screens, newspapers and radio are full of promises. And we have a new word

Ah ha that is when one party makes a promise and the other party thinks that is a really good idea and says "me too".

And we now know from the political compass that both parties are sitting on each other's laps anyway.

Sniffing is a disgusting habit,,much better to wipe it on your sleeve,along with the chicken soup which I also find is normally disgusting...
