That's really touching Tricia

I've never had to cope with this - I hope your mum recognising it lightened your day for a minute or two.

Very best

Well I'm defo old enough c1953 and can remember some of it.
I just played the music to my Mum and said "can you remember this"? she got that it was a childrens programme and a happy smile lit up across her face.
She has early onset alzheimers and isn't doing too well at the moment,so was nice to know she remembered some of it
Tricia xx

Evening All (remember 6.30 on a Saturday?)

I listened with mother and then watched with mother. A particular episode of The Woodentops featured the Ws tying dusters to their feet and then cleaning the kitchen floor......... Seemed like a good idea at the time ........ you can guess what happened next!

The only time we turned the radio over from the Home Service to the Light Programme as for Two Way Family Favourites - the memory of it is permanently intermingled with the smell of boiling cabbage!

I listened without Mother as she was usually too busy, bless her. We got a telly in 1959 and I WATCHED without Mother, too!

My children watched Playschool without me while I raced around doing housework (though I must have seen an episode or two as I remember some of the characters)!

Are you sitting comfortably? My rebel of a brother always used to say 'no' to the nice lady

Where was I on my 21st......having a party in my own home and had been married for 20 months and my Sis and BiL had their engagement on the same day........and my MiL had made me a lovely shift dress out of the train of my wedding dress.....

Yes, I listened with mother (born '57) and watched with mother .... loved them both. My favourites were The Wooden Tops, Bill and Ben, Trumpton and Camblewick Green.
