That is the same as ours Tec. \i miss the grainy film and the clicking noise as the reels changed over

Unfortunately not Linda, but they did have a "proper" one

Now apparently they have a state of the art digital one - not the same :-0

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 11 Nov 2014 22:29

Don't they have a real projector in your cinema Tec :-D :-D

The film is What I did on my holidays with Billy Connolly in it. A good tv film seemed to be the consensus, so it won't be bothering the Oscars

Our local cinema is doing very well since it underwent major works inside and out.

They also put on live shows, and plays now.

It looks beautiful from outside now, and renamed "The Magic Lantern"

What is the film showing, Linda?

We took the car so I wouldn't have to walk. It wasn't very busy, but that was fine. There is a matinee tomorrow, so I will probably go and watch it then

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Nov 2014 22:08

Hello Linda,

Was it busy at the cinema?

I'm watching a programme all about "Queen" on ITV - quite good.

One good thing about living beyond the fringe - Christmas is not thrust upon us :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Nov 2014 22:04

Christmas is all go now Linda - stores are full of Christmassy stuff and the parties and concerts are all coming up.

Were you ok at the cinema? You must be tired.

Hello, I have just done cinema duty for the first time in ages

You cant have a Christmas concert yet Sue, it is only mid November

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Nov 2014 21:57

Hello Sylvia,

I like to hear a lawn mower - the sound of summer.

Here, the sound of summer is the thump thump thump of the jet ski's in the Bay, very irritating :-D

What a shame that Drew's mum knows the "secret".
Drew should have gone elsewhere to practice :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Nov 2014 21:49

I'm sure we will. His mum told me she knows what song it is because she heard him practise in his room. She didn't tell him that she knows so as not to spoil it for him.

Hi Sue, and everyone

Sue ....... enjoy the Christmas Concert :-)

The sun is shining, and it is about 4C in the shade ........................... it is however shining straight into this room, so I have the patio window open to cool the room down :-)

I can also hear a lawn mower, or maybe a leaf / grass clipping blower, being used somewhere nearby :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Nov 2014 21:44

The Christmas Concert should be good, and all will be revealed :-D

Hope you enjoy it.

SueMaid Report 11 Nov 2014 21:39

This evening we are going to Drew's Christmas concert. He has been showing us a dance his class is doing but won't tell us what they are singing. Apparently it's a secret :-)

Good Morning Sue,

Miserable here too, wet,wet,wet, :-(

The sea of poppies at the Tower is incredible.
My daughter and Sil went to see them last week while in London, but there was a queue that would take several hours, so they took photo's from the road that looks down on the poppies.

The 13yr old cadet did a good job placing the very last poppy.

My grand daughter has bought one, that she will receive some time next year. They cost £25 which will go into a fund helping servicemen and women.

Hello friends :-)

Miserable weather here the last couple of days - I wish it would rain instead of threatening to.

I watched some of the Remembrance Day in Britain. The sea of ceramic poppies is amazing and it was rather emotional knowing that there were two poppies representing my great grandfather and my father's cousin. Lovely to see a young army cadet place the last poppy.

Hello Huia,

Do you still drive the camper Van?

Sylvia I heard that you were in for a cold spell.
We are currently enjoying a very wet spell :-(

Huia

Huia Report 11 Nov 2014 20:39

HULLO, anybody there? Where are you all hiding?

Yesterday I decided to clear some of the junk out of our old camper van. I found 3 ant nests, so squirted lots of bug bomb on them. I must do a bit more today.

There have also been rats in there, so I think I will have to set more poison/traps in there. :-(

Hi Sue, and everyone

We have an Arctic outflow situation .......... that means clear sunny, cold weather :-)

It is going to get gradually colder and colder as the week goes on.

However ............... it does mean that tomorrow will be dry if chilly for the Cenotaph services.

If you want to know more about the absence of poppies, and the reason GR is giving, read some at least of this thread ................
