Hello Berona, good to hear that you are sensible.

My laptop needs a new battery, but that is easy to change. One of the hinges is partly broken, so I don't know how much longer that will last. It isn't that old. I was wondering about getting a new one, but windows 10 is coming out early next year, so I will probably wait for that

That's very disappointing Sue. Hopefully the Apple people can fix it.

I've still had no news about mine, left in the hands of my SIL, and I won't mention it again. :-|

I will definitely be more careful :-(

I told you all earlier that I was having problems with my iPad. Well I eventually got it back yesterday to be told that it can't be repaired. Very annoying but I will now send it to the Apple store as I'm sure they will have more experienced people. I should have done that to start with.

Anyone can be overcome by the heat. You weren't to know that you would react like that.

Though it serves as a warning to be more careful in future heatwaves

Hello Berona <3 I was very silly and was told off by the doctor. I felt silly in the doctor's surgery - as I was waiting to see him I had to lie down in the treatment room where I was given a lot of water to sip. Even the nurse 'tut tutted' at me :-(

Hello Berona, :-)

Glad to see that you and Kitty are being sensible, and hiding from the heat.

I suppose it must be hard for you to imagine that I have the central heating on tonight, and am sitting close to the radiator :-D

Not looking forward to the proper winter, which will arrive after Christmas.

Berona Report 14 Nov 2014 22:24

Tut, tut, Sue - you should have stayed at home! I don't exactly know what the temp was here, yesterday. It was forecast for 39+. So, I filled up the cat's water dish out in the courtyard - but not for her - for the birds. I then switched on the aircon at 10am and Kitty and I had a very nice, comfortable, lazy day - indoors. I noticed that she did go to her indoor water dish more often than usual. Shows that animals know how to look after themselves.... I too, made sure I drank plenty of water.

Sue - you will have to learn to indulge yourself like I do!

It is unusual for the temperature to be that high where we are in November or any time during summer. Adelaide having been having extremely high temperatures - not unusual for that part of Australia.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Nov 2014 22:12

Sue I've been in the Sydney area many times in November, but never remember it that hot.

I do remember there was an emergency declared in Adelaide one summer when they had a shocking heatwave.

The paint was melting on the rails of our ship, and people were being treated for burns after touching them :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Nov 2014 22:12

You are to stay indoors for the whole of the rest of the summer

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 14 Nov 2014 22:02

Sorry Linda :-( The doctor is very sure it was the heat but he just wants to be sure as my heart was racing quite fast.

Anyway......

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Nov 2014 22:01

Sue that is much too hot - silly hot. :-S

Best to stay indoors when it's like that. You will know what temperatures you can live with comfortably, 37 C is ridiculous.

Your OH shouldn't blame himself - how was he to know?

it could happen to anybody, at an time. Take it easy today.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 14 Nov 2014 21:57

Thank you Tec. The doctor was really quite annoyed with me - and quite rightly so. OH is blaming himself which is silly. The temperature reached 37C. It is much cooler today and we are expecting rain.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Nov 2014 21:57

Oh goodness Sue, you have given me a shock as well. I hope it was just the heat and you are not Ill

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Nov 2014 21:54

Oh Sue, what a nasty experience, for you, and frightening for OH too.

Wise to get checkout straight away, and I hope any further tests are fine and that it really was the effects of the heat.

You will have to be very careful for the rest of the summer if the heat is excessive, as it's been.

Do take care Sue <3

Hello :-) I like Lewis.

I had a strange day yesterday. OH had to go out to deliver a mobility scooter and asked if I wanted to come with him. Because it was cool in the house I didn't realise just how hot it was outdoors so off I went. We arrived at the unit and I decided to stay in the car with the door open as I had a headache from the heat. And then......I fainted :-0 Scared poor OH who took me to our doctor straight away. By then I was very flushed, shaking and my heart was racing. The doctor told me I was very silly going out in the heat and after a thorough check over sent me home to bed. By late afternoon I was feeling much better but tired. I have to go back on Monday :-(
