I have just been reading about the different ways of sorting problems out Sue. I always google the problems, it is amazing what you can sort out on your own

Hello Sylvia. I have never missed voting in any sort of election either

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 15 Nov 2014 22:17

Hi Sylvia - as you know voting is compulsory here in Oz. I also think it's our duty and right.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 15 Nov 2014 22:16

Linda - all he did was press the off button and the on button at the same time. In was rebooting within seconds and everything was back to normal within a couple of minutes.

Hi Sue, and everyone

another sunny, clear, but chilly day

it got down to -0.6C in the shade in my back garden overnight ................. that's the coldest so far.

It must have got down to about -4 or -5C at the official station, at the airport.

It's early afternoon now, and quite warm in the sun ................ about 7C, but much colder in the shade

Sue .............. I'm glad that you are feeling better xxx

Tec ............... I'm trying to do both mine and OH's trees as books .................. daughter says she's not interested in a dry tree, with just names.

She wants to know how people lived, where they lived, etc, etc

I've collected all kinds of pictures from the internet about churches where people married back in the 1700 and 1800s, and all kinds of information about various people

............ but I keep losing patience in getting it all together :-(

We did our duty ....... and right, and privilege

................... went to vote in the municipal election this morning.

it's an at-large system ...........

Mayor .............. choose 1 of 10

City Council .......... choose 10 out of 49

School Board ........ choose 9 out of 29

Parks Board .......... choose 7 out of 31

Plus, 3 referenda allowing the city to borrow money over the next 4 years for various facility and infrastructure work.

The term for the council was changed earlier this year from serving 3 years to 4 years

I have voted in every election for which I have been eligible since I turned 21 ................

I don't believe I have the right to complain if I haven't voted :-)

I asked the young fellow if he would like to come and live at our house but he said we would regret it because he eats a lot. I told him we already have one who does that so perhaps not :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Nov 2014 22:11

That is good Sue, I will google that to see what it is

we had one car where we had to have the gas in the aircon refilled a couple of times, it doesn't cost that much over here

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Nov 2014 22:10

That's brilliant news about your iPad Sue :-)

Goes to show not everyone knows what they're talking about, I'm sure that you were delighted

Tecwyn Report 15 Nov 2014 22:07

I am also tired, must be time of year.
Listened to Radio 4 from 7am till 8am this morning, then fell asleep and woke at 9am.
Went into panic mode, don't know why, as it didn't matter really :-D

SueMaid Report 15 Nov 2014 22:06

That's what OH said Linda - so I think he will probably take it in to be done.

The end of the iPad saga. I was told that my tablet was gone beyond repair. So I picked it up and left feeling quite annoyed. I told my daughter about it and she told me there is a new Apple shop in the huge shopping centre near her.

We took it in on Thursday and within seconds the young fellow fixed it :-0. He did what he called a "soft reboot". I've lost no data and the tablet is working perfectly.

I am tired, I didn't sleep well last night, I don't know why. I am just waiting for the results of Strictly on Dave Thorps spoiler blog, then I will have an early night, another fifteen minutes or so to go

Tecwyn Report 15 Nov 2014 21:57

Good to hear that you are feeling better today, and that OH sat on you yesterday.

Take things easy now though :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Nov 2014 21:55

The gas probably needs recharging, it makes a huge difference when it is done

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 15 Nov 2014 21:50

I was very tired and headachy yesterday but I'm feeling good today. Yesterday I had no choice but to rest - OH wouldn't allow me to do otherwise.

To answer Sylvia's question - the car is air conditioned but as it is an old car that OH uses to pull the trailer and to generally run around in the air conditioner isn't as efficient as it is in our Subaru.

Hello again Linda,

Good Morning Sue,

You must be enjoying the rain, and I'm sure the plants need it.
Hope that you are feeling better now that its cooled.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Nov 2014 21:44

How are you feeling today?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 15 Nov 2014 21:41

Hello everyone :-)

We have rain - not complaining as we badly need some. It is so much cooler now and the rain is refreshing.

Sorry I disappeared, I had a few bits to do, then my sister phoned

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Nov 2014 20:34

I must knuckle down and devote some time to copying out my tree on paper.

I think I will split the trees to make it simpler for someone else to follow - that will also be a mammoth task, but worth it.
Obviously making it clear where a marriage takes place

Where there is a story to tell about an individual I will write that up in a book.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Nov 2014 20:19

I do indeed, once I get going it will be fine

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Nov 2014 19:39

Hmm that's a huge task you've taken on. The split screen is a good idea, and saves time.
Pity that the photo's etc won't transfer directly though.
Still, you've got all winter to do it. :-)
