:-D :-D

Flowers will be lovely for the Duchess on her birthday. It's a shame things go walkabout in care homes. A friend of mine made a beautiful patchwork quilt for her mother and it disappeared along with a beautiful clock that she had been given as a wedding gift over 60 years earlier.

Good morning Sue, I hope you are behaving and keeping cool

I think that you went to visit Hyacinth by mistake :-D

Maybe Hyacinth's mother :-D

My word she did - lovely Royal Doulton cups with hand painted periwinkles. I had a mug because I was terrified of breaking one of cups :-D

Good Morning Sue,

Glad you enjoyed tea with Auntie Mary :-)

Did she have cucumber sandwiches with crusts cut off, and cream scones, and fruit cake? :-D

Hello :-)

Don't worry about Aunt Mary - I nipped over to her house and had the most delicious afternoon tea :-D

I have fond memories of lunch with dear friends in Crayke <3

I should have handed the specs in - will do on Sunday if she still has them.

They do have their names engraved inside the arm, but these didn't.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 18 Nov 2014 21:19

Oh dear, someone won't be able to see, it is odd that they can;t match them up with the correct owner

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 18 Nov 2014 21:16

I expect you can, but I've got a plastic label maker here. That would be alright stuck inside the purse.

I had to stick a label on the radio I bought her

lots of things "walk"

she has a pair of specs that aren't hers, as well as her own :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 18 Nov 2014 21:12

You need a purse with her name on it, I am sure you can get them on the tinternet

Surrounded by castles here :-D

Tecwyn Report 18 Nov 2014 21:06

Can't think of anywhere to buy a purse locally, but have asked daughter to get one from her, as she was stuck for ideas.

Not sure the purse I saw today was actually hers. There wasn't a penny in it, although there should have been.

Her purse was quite a good one last time I saw it :-(

Bored with football, so watching Penelope Kieth doing a programme on villages

LindainHerriotCountry Report 18 Nov 2014 21:05

OH has given up on the football and is going to watch a programme about castles on BBC2

That will be nice, flowers always go down well. Can you get a purse before then? She might not realise it is hers if you do get one though

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 18 Nov 2014 20:59

I don't know Linda - I wasn't looking.

Many people do believe that is the border

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 18 Nov 2014 20:58

Why are they showing Hadrian's wall on the football, it isn't the border

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 18 Nov 2014 20:58

I do feel badly about auntie Mary - who I've apparently known for years, and was just being awkward because I didn't want to go :-( oh well.

It is the Duchess's birthday on Sunday. It is so difficult to know what to take. She isn't allowed cake or chocolate, or anything taken in to eat.
There is nothing she needs, except maybe a new purse, as I noticed hers is in tatters.
So I called in the florists and ordered a basket type arrangement of flowers to pick up on Saturday.
She does like flowers.

I think it was very bad of you not to visit Aunt Mary, the poor old lady will have gone to all that trouble to lay on a lovely tea and you didn't turn up :-)

It is good that you have had the guttering done as we are foreast to have the wettest winter for thirty years

I am pleased with the new lamp, where I sit there is a bit of a dark patch at night when we only use lamps, not the ceiling lights. Yhe old floor lamp was fine, but sometimes it felt like my hair was about to set on fire
