You must take one of those plastic hair covers Linda :-D

I don't mind driving in the rain, my main worry is poor visibility.
I have to drive "over the top" which is a mountain road 2,500 ft up, above the tree line.
There is usually low lying cloud up there when it's raining at lower levels, so I'm hoping it won't be too bad :-0

Linda , according to " the rules " he is by the very fact of being evicted from our site , banned for 10 years from ANY of our association sites ( so I don't think the harassing could be considered ) , the photo idea is a good idea Tec , I know he has a Facebook page , I've looked at the photos ( which mean they are already in the public domain ) I just need my daughter to " lift " one and circulate that :-)

From some of the things I've been hearing our " mad man " isn't the only one , I think all the sites have their own versions ( in varying degrees ) , they are out there ......lol

Oh you will have such fun, Amanda :-D. I'm sure you will do a wonderful job.

Tecwyn Report 25 Nov 2014 22:41

Amanda, I've gone home from committee meetings steaming, fuming, incandescent, hysterical - but oh what fun I had. :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Nov 2014 22:40

Oh dear, there is going to be a lot of rain tomorrow. That is because I m going to have my hair cut. I hope it isn't too bad for your drive Tec

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Nov 2014 22:38

You need to circulate a photo Amanda.

That could be a new rule - each application to be accompanied by a photo :-D

He might accuse you of harassing him if you set up a rogues gallery, but it might be a good idea to warn them on the quiet

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 25 Nov 2014 22:36

Tec , I think I'll be okay , I have humour , patience and understanding , no fear of me turning into the Iron Lady .......lol I read the minutes of the past two meetings and apparently there where " exchanges " , someone stormed out but came back and apoligised . It all sounds delightfully amuseing :-D

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 25 Nov 2014 22:32

Well I've already got plans to have a " Roughs galary " , seriously , the other site secretarys need to know what our former " mad man " looks like , just in case he attempts to get a plot on one of the other GY&GAA sites , he could use a false name . I'm planning to bring it up at my first " secretarys meeting " :-0

Tecwyn Report 25 Nov 2014 22:32

Steady on Amanda,

Maggie Thatcher was power crazy :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Nov 2014 22:31

Amanda, In my experience the main thing to have when serving on any committee is a good sense of humour, which you obviously have, and an understanding of human weaknesses :-D with more than a sprinkling of patience.

It can be very rewarding and interesting
:-)

Amanda2003 Report 25 Nov 2014 22:27

I could couldn't I Linda , invent my very own form :-D Oh the POWER lol

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Nov 2014 22:26

Maybe a Certificate of Sanity should accompany each application :-D

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 25 Nov 2014 22:26

Hello Linda and Sue , thank you for the sympathy about the cat and daughters tooth .
My girl looked a lot better this morning ( after sleeping off the trauma of it all ) .

Tec , I think the old secretary is ready to hand me the briefcase , with all the forms ( that he has show me but then taken away again ) , at the weekend , because he said as much to me today . He has just been tieing up loose ends . I've already told him to expect me to phone him up ( or track him down on the site ) if I need assistance .
I'm quite looking forward to seeing all the foibles of committee life :-D :-S

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Nov 2014 22:21

Ooh having your name on the gate is very important Amanda :- :-D

I am glad you have the key back now, maybe you should instigate a new vetting system to make sure new people are not mad. You could devise all sorts of new forms for that

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Nov 2014 22:15

Amanda,

Although your Secretary situation is awkward, and mildly amusing, I suppose it's better than being thrown in the deep end, having a baptism of fire.
The old Secretary will soon let go when you thank him profusely for all his help and say that you can manage now :-D

I think committees are some of the funniest setups ever created by civilisation :-D.
The politics, the anguish, the back biting, the fury, are all part of the fun :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 25 Nov 2014 22:15

Oh dear - I've just noticed Sylvia from WA. I'm sorry Sylvia - I do hope you will drop in again :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 25 Nov 2014 22:13

I hope your daughter is feeling much better, Amanda.

I think when someone has been doing a job for a long time it is difficult to let go. I'm pleased that you don't have to cope with the 'crazy one' anymore and it's good that you have the key back.

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 25 Nov 2014 22:08

Good evening Tec :-D

If you really need me at the dentists for moral support you only have to whistle and I'll be there :-)
My little cat had reached the ripe old age of 14 years , so she didn't do to badly . I still have two others ( one of which is 18 ! ) , I keep telling him he isn't long for this world ( and I'm so glad he ignores me ) :-)

The Secetary work hasn't really kicked in yet properly , much to my amusement ( but annoyance to the General Secretary ) , the old secretary seems a bit reluctant to let his grip on the position go completely . I've had the General Secretary telling me I have make it clear that I'm in charge but I've reassured him that the old chap is just helping me to find my feet at the moment ( he runs everything by me on a daily basis ) . Between them they turned me into " piggy in the middle " reguarding " new forms " and " old forms " but I'm being very diplomatic about it all . I have noticed my name STILL isn't up on the gate though .........lol I'm sue it will all be resolved very soon .
At least the " mad man " is well and truely gone , the key is back in our possession and the two plots have been re-let ( useing the old forms :-S ) .
