Ah so it could be argued {politely} that the industrial revolution did nothing or little to help a man {or lady} earn a fair days pay?

Mel even today people are not paid a fair wage, they say the minimum wage is X but there are so many under that.

Mel for them the cost was high, but that was the ruling then, for us well who knows.

Some countries still demand a life for a life etc. My belief is no matter where you come from if you violated that countries laws then you except their punishment. I don't agree with the fact that they will crush a childs arm for stealing bread. But if the UK had different laws then maybe there would not be the violence you see today
