I was lucky enough to meet Daff many times
both at meets and a couple of social get togethers
she has been there for me many times
giving me hope when I lost mine bless her
I have some really happy memories of her
her humour and that welsh smile that could light up the darkest room
she was a brave woman who inspired us all
who even though she was suffering herself thought of others first
and how kind she was to baby satan she loved him
taking him books crayons and jigsaws to pusses wedding
what a fuss she made of him a really good day to remember
also at Peterbrough her famous sun stroke
trying to get her out the taxi at the hotel was so funny
and the next morning she was bright as a button at breakfast
I will always remember her belly dancing with Rach
she was the star of the night I never wanted that night to end
I will miss Daff so much with love
and i will take very good care of that hope she gave me xx <3 <3

Sue you have reminded me. Did anyone take photos at the birthday party? For some reason I didn't, I think we were all moving around too much, and I thought Daff would have but she didn't. Shame that.

reading all the reminiscenses I think we can say that not one of us will leave behind anywhere near the number of wonderful memories on GR that Daff has left.

Wipe's away my tear's :-(

Reading all the lovely tribute's to Daff and all your lovely story's about her mad me cry and wish I'd been lucky like some of you to have met her. I can only speak of her as a friend on my laptop and say she made me laugh many a time and also pm'd me with word's of comfort and sometime's stern truth's of reallity in the nicest posssible way as our Daff knew how, I as other's will miss her dearly mostly for her strength of character and sense of humour. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Dear Jude, what a lovely posting.

I was thinking that, maybe the ones of us who cannot attend tomorrow, could at 11.00., take a quiet moment to reflect on this lovely, lovely lady. I will be out tomorrow, but will do this, as I will not be able to light a candle
either.

Take Care

I don't know of any photos of Daff's birthday party Ann, what a shame.

When I was chatting with R I mentioned that we would get a photo album together over the coming months which we could add to the other tributes that will be kept for her granddaughters. So I'll be on the scrounge.

Tomorrow I am sure the service will bring many a tear but afterwards there will be laughter as we all recall Daff's antics.

A strange thing happened, later on the day Daff passed away so did Poldara (the eldest cat).

Gave me the shivers but in a good way.

Eileen, instead of clicking on the page numbers click on the triangle next to the word 'post' at the top, that will take you to the last page. It takes so long to load the thread because it is so long and then it times out.

thinking of daffs family and all of the troops ,thta is strange about the cat Polgara but cats do things like that

LaGooner Report 2 Dec 2011 16:50

Cats most certainly do. My late Mother in Laws cat passed 2 years to the day (Boxing Day) after her. I think the old darling wanted her cat to cuddle.

Morning all. Daff sent me some fleece to keep my plants warm in winter, and I thought of her yesterday as I wrapped up the geraniums. Hope Mr D is taking care of himself.

I miss coming on here and seeing all the Troops in their raggedy uniforms so I thought I would drop in to water the drooping aspidestra and rake the fire.

Love to all :-) <3

Good morning BC, yes I miss it too. I hope the geraniums survive cuddled up in the fleece.

I think that aspidistra is beyond saving don't you. Here's a bowl with hyacinths growing and another one with daffodils. We can look forward to them flowering. <3 <3 <3 <3
