And I saw yr house-hunting post Rose, so understand the bittersweet. Hope no more bitter than mine, which wasn't really, just about the same bitter/sweet as the most beautiful of his songs. Wuz going to offer you mine ... old ... roof leaks. (Eek - *house*, that is!) But hey, I've got an apt you can rent - old, big, nothing leaks, semi-updated charm, tastefully decorated!

Lost my email address? How does somebody lose an email address??

You know, I could always still get PMs here. Sniff.

Well you know ... I did have an admirer in this very place way back when ... No.2's music, I found, was very useful for seducing boys ... but oh well, he seems to have gone off too ...

The fangs ... broke another one, the one the partial bridge is attached to ... just waiting for the whole thing to fall apart now, 'cause I don't have the 5 grand I need to get it all reconstructed.

No.1 finally solved his dental problems -- he absolutely and completely refuses to go to a dentist, I have no idea what that is about -- by losing the back molar that had caused the absess (all right, how do you spell that **ing word; I have to google it every time) abscess last year that sent him to the ER and put him in the foulest mood. And then displaying the giant ugly thing for me to admire.

Still got the big sharp canines though.

Oh well, obviously not worthy of you Janey. Good riddance.

So besides kicking no 1 into gear, and a formidable task that must be...whats next? Anyone line up for no 3?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 16 Apr 2009 18:59

No.3 ... I wish.

No.1 is still on the chesterfield.

No.2 is apparently no longer wishing to be in touch, although we did chat back and forth some for a while after the rollercoasters. And he did pick my brain when his old mum's absolutely filthy rich stepchildren decided that her entitlement to the estate of her husband, their father, who died a couple of years ago, had ended, and she was on her own now to pay for her assisted living unit and care. Oh, and they'd taken over the investment of her own small life savings, and they're suddenly gone now too ...

Bittersweet affair that one was. Not that it was an affair, when you came down too it. Picked me up when I needed it most (and just think what a ray of sunshine it was in so many equally grey lives!), dropped me like a stone. I haven't even listened to his beautiful music since then ...

Hey ya, TW.

I just dredged up the huggies thread (makes a change from tenas ...) to update everybody who send their kind thoughts there -- in a nutshell, the two sickos are doing pretty well so far and prospects are good for both.

I dunno whether everybody who posted in that old thread is still around. Hope I recognize them when I do see them!

The middle of April, spring and my crocuses have sprung, footloose and fancy free (did you know that's Shakespeare?).

Okay, here's my chance.

What is this "OMDs"???

So ....... any exciting roller coaster rides while I've been ....... away?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 16 Apr 2009 17:58

Directions:

Fill the stock pot with the chicken broth and add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, chicken base and chocolate. Heat to boiling then cover and simmer on low while you cut up the pork.

Cut the pork into 1 inch cubes. Trim as much fat off as you can. I prefer chucks of tender pork in my tamales recipe instead of shredded pork. You can do it either way.

Add the cut up pork to the boiling sauce. Partially cover and simmer on low for 2 hours or until pork is real tender.

When the pork is done and very tender, combine the 3/4 cup cold water and flour with a whisk until well blended.

Turn the heat up to high and when it is boiling, slowly add the flour mixture to the pork. Stir the pork continuously to avoid lumps just like you would when making gravy.

Continue to slow boil while stiring for about 3 to 5 minutes and then turn the heat off.

Now if you are real ambitious you can start making the masa and preparing the tamales. If you would rather continue the next day, let the pork cool after cooking and then refrigerate.

That didn't take too long now did it?

Day 2 of The Tamales Recipe ...

......... DAY TWO of the tamale recipe???

Maybe I won't be here all week. If I start now ...
