OH DEAR,
glass of vino in one hand and roll up in the other

I will have to give that a miss then, a BEAR wouldnt even come near it if I couldnt have my home mades,
smokes,vino.
I cant afford the ones that come in packs of 20 here at £5 a time,
baccy at £6.50p for 2 ounces{from france ,spain ,belgium}I dont mind where but not the local shop prices of £13.
£13 buys nearly 2 certs for heavens sakes and with my lot it costs a fortune for them.
To do before I die,all the D.I.LS and all the the assorted kids fathers trees ,I dont think I will see another holiday/vacation for QUITE some time.
Zimbabwe next for number 2 sons father,that should be fun.

Yeah ... but there's no smoking. I might be able to take it, but No.1 would be like a bear. Worse. Unspeakable. Wouldn't do it, in fact. So Viv - you may get your chance to companionize yet!

Of course, maybe by the time we qualify we won't be able to afford the smokes. ;)

We could always quit now, and save up for the trip instead!

'course we've got the seniors companion discount!

we're a little more than 4 years older than 60 ......... in fact OH turned 70 last year!

I had a fiend ............ or even friend ..........who announced years ago that we should take the seniors discount at a certain chain of hotels in Western Canada ............. it started at 55


.......... and in some places in the US seniors discounts start at 50


friend said ..... always ask! They can only say No.


Janey ............... it is just marvellous to do the train trip. We've done it in the winter 4 times over the last few years since dotty moved over there in 1999. January 2008 was actually the first time we took it from Halifax to here.

Last time we did it in the summer was back in 1972. You do have to be in the frame of mind that it is taking time, and this is part of your holiday ..... people who don't do that can get awfully frustrated!

The other thing is that the food is superb!! Not quite what you might expect to say about the national railway is it??? But they have always been known for the dining car food in Silver and Blue. They used to serve a lamb rack that was the best I have ever eaten .... and I had that every time I could. They didn't have it last year, they'd replaced it with a different lamb dish, much to everyone's disappointment.

The Canadian from Toronto to Vancovuer has its own chefs, and they do literally cook from scratch for every meal .................... if you have any food allergies they will make any adjustments needed.

You're begging for an invite to stay in the the tastefully decorated apartment I was offering Rambling Rose? Well you're more than welcome. It overlooks the crocuses and tulips! And the weather is expected to be rainy today, so No.1 is out bagging up all the leaves and crud that were on the garden all winter to protect it, for the garden waste/compost pickup next week, before his neat piles get all soggy.

Other than that, though, it's nowhere to go but up!

And no, the armpits you smell are mine. Meant to have a shower before going out for dinner with the girlfriends last night ... forgot.
