Mine was The Wizard of Oz. Mum was a big fan of Judy Garland and I was about 4 or 5 when Mum took me. You know the scene where they go to see the Wizard and he is behind the curtain and he starts talking, well I screamed the place down, I was terrified of his voice and Mum had to take me out. I couldn't watch the film until several years later. My next film was The Sound of Music, then Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Those were the days. choc ices, and orange maid juice in the square plastic containers.

Well it was either at the Savoy or the Embassy in Fareham hants. Bambi.
then in 1947 in Paignton probably (we were on holiday in Brixham) was taken to see The Bells Of St Marys with Bing Crosby.
Didn't go often to the cinema. next one was again Fareham and was the red shoes. (I think it was called, was it Moira Shearer?)

I think my first film was either Bambi or like BrummieHelen has mentioned, the Wizard of Oz or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I do know tho that I always fell asleep half way through (after the ice creams at the interval..I was smart enuf to stay awake for that!!) waking up at the end and Mum having to explain how the story ended.

Tale of Two Cities. But I was the "chaperone" for my sister and her new boyfriend. I was about 5.

The first film that was for me was Bambi. Apparently I cried. Not been able to watch it since!!

Bambi might well have been my first tip to the cinema as a child . We all started crying and Mum hadn't got a hanky with her . After that , when ever any of us said we were going to the pictures she would ask " have you got a hanky in case it's sad "........lol

I vividly remember going to see the musical " Camelot " ( I must have been 6 years old and I fell madly in love with Lancelot ( Franco Nero ) .

I think the film that made the most impression on me as a child was The Robe. It had a huge cast and all seemed so real to me. I suppose I was about eleven

the first film i ever saw was Grease, I still love that film today, i've lost count how many times i've seen it, I could play a part in it lol

think Tarzan and Old Mother Riley were the first films i saw at the local flea pit with other kids while our parents drank in the pub next door...

I saw Sinbad/Ali Baba n 40 thieves at sat mornin picture show up at the Caves had a bottle of orange fizzy pop n bag of nuts ~ not my idea of fun but the pop was nice

My parents took me to see Jungle Book and I can still remember crying all the way through. I was 3 years old and had got bored senseless with the first film. I seem to remember it was a swashbuckler with loads of sword fighting.

First one I remember going to see was The Lion King, yep the Disney film released in 1994, I was 11 guess I might have been taken to the cinema before that but don't remember.

Oooh I think it was Bambi - I was about three or four and fell asleep halfway through, so I missed Bambi's mum getting shot! I couldn't understand why all the other kids were so distressed at the end!

My sister used to take me a lot and she loooved Disney films, so I saw loads when I was really little - Snow White, Jungle Book (still love it today), Pinnochio, Cinderella and the Aristocats.

I remember dad taking me to see Zulu when I was about 8 or so (it was the second time around in the cinema I think).

00000h I remember them all....I wasn't taken to see any :-(((((( but ......:-))))))) I do remember seeing the five Pennies and staying to watch the film over and over again......before that it was umpteen other films but this one stayed in my memory.

The very first movie I was ever taken to was The Red Shoes, with Moira Shearer. I remember my Mum taking me as a special treat and I never ever forgot the movie. I tried to watch it again a few months ago and turned if off before it got to the end. I think it won Acadmey Awards, was beautifully presented, had the most glorious dancing, and wonderful music. The only recollection I have of that evening was getting dressed up in a pretty dress; and the end of the movie. I had nightmares for weeks after. It truly has one of the worst endings of any movie I have every seen. My poor Mum thought it would be a real treat. Needless to say her gangly uncoordinated daughter never did turn out to be a dancer, preferred to climb trees.
