And I am both Welsh and Canadian. Seen the weather in BC on the TV, I don't envy you out west.

Not for a few weeks, but it's been bleeding cold enough for it.

Nice to look out to, but much prefer to be indoors.

Ann GG, have they brought in passport control yet???

At least in Canada ad US when you have snow everyone is well prepared. When we have snow the railways stop and we are lucky if the roads get gritted.

Shy, try British!!! at least we will all admit to being that (at a push!)

no passport control yet - the Welsh Assembly may bring it in though - they have had quite a number of daft ideas so far, some good ones too though like free prescriptions and bus travel throughout Wales

I'm Scottish, live in England and haven't been abroad for about 20yrs. My passport has run out and haven't renewed it.

Flying up there is out as I need a passport. No worries.

Just jump in the car, bus or train and get there without the need for one.

Just a bit of rain in Norwich, Norfolk but it's been cold this weekend, o.h. already moaning cos I keep the gas fire on all the time, only on low, but there is no central heating in this house and it's the only heating there is, except for an oil filled rad I got a few wekes ago, second hand and it isn't that good altho takes the chill off this room. It's that or having the cooker on and the oven door open lol, At least the gas fire keeps the house aired a bit, the lounge has an open plan staircase at the side so the heat goes up a bit.
Anyone would think he is hard up, mean old beggar! He doesn't feel the cold, I am wearing lots of layers but still not over warm!

I feel for all of you with snow, I hate the stuff unless I don't have to go out in it and can watch if from a warm house. Take care and hope those with dodgy heating get it fixed soon, I know how it feels when it goes kaput!

You've reminded me of the snow of 1947 in Cardiff, we were in Llandaff and my brother was born during that March snow, the midwife had to stay for several days, our doctor Keyes-Evans couldn't get to the house, buses didn't go down Palace Road for a week. I wonder if the mountain ash tree is still in the front garden . . .

Hi Mary, that was just before I was born, I am not sure if my parents were back in Norwich then or not, but I know Norfolk suffered badly in the snows, especially out in the countryside. I was already on the way by the snows, otherwise would certainly have been a few months later I am sure, with folk trying to keep warm lol
Hope you are ok, have you had a quiet day today?
