I'll make it Rita, just in case the others have a hubby like mine, who doesn't bother with Valentine's Day. He says cards and presents are supposed to be from a secret admirer and his admiration isn't a secret!!
(_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? {_}? [_]
I do get cards, flowers, chocolates, perfume and money on my birthday and Christmas - so I'm not complaining.
Shelly, I wonder how long it'll be before your hubby begs you to go back on your lappy.....lol
Ah, Mo, 'im indoors' is handy - so it's not all bad!! Just as well he is handy, your poor grandchildren would have been freezing. I wonder if there's some kind of law that says heating can only break down in the winter.

Lady, what date is the case going to be heard? I know you've already said, but I can't remember and I can't find it on the thread.

Morning ladies I also have a hubby that doesn't do Valentines cards !!! But he did fancy the meal that Tesco's are running so we will share that today. We chose Beef Wellington, root veg mash (I have other veg already), Raspberry creme brulee, pink cava-- to drink and a box of chocs to share too. All for £15 so a bargain eh!! Oh he did buy me red roses too. My youngest bought me a love songs CD and a single red rose.......... she thought her dad wouldn't bother. Yesterdays shopping was sucessful. Got the rest of the table vase decorations. Got a few bits for the holiday. Got a birthday gift for future son in law. Oh and got some bargain bags from Claires Accesories................. junk jewellry etc for the dressing up box. Great fun seeing what you get. 10 items for £3. We got sunglasses, a belt, loads of earings (some quite good for my daughter), necklaces, bracelets 2prs of gloves and a braid of black hair for make believe. Oh well best go and do some ironing. Oh I forgot it has been snowing here again, quite wet so hopefully it won't settle

Thank you for the lovely eclair Rita,I really enjoyed it. Now thats what I call being spoilt. We got each other a card, but nothing else. It's our anniversary soon,so we will spoil each other then. I am an old softy really,as I believe that love comes from within, and I dont need material things to prove to me,that "im indoors " loves me. Just as Rita's is an endless love for her husband. True love endures.

Well I got the ironing done. Bagged up a bit of garden rubbish or tomorrow morning. Tidied upa bit too.
The dinner was really nice, cetainly recommend it. The fizzy wine was nice too, though I only had one glass. Hubby is dozing in his chair. Hard day at work and a neighbour encourage him tohave a beer before he came home too.
I am watching the Dimbleby programme 7 ages of Britain I think It is really good.
Sleep well tonight all of you

Shelly, he didn't send you a birthday card (or was that the year before?), so you weren't expecting a Valentine's card were you?
I wonder what Marilyn and Sue got.

Hi all, well I got a card - to my partner - does he think I am a cowboy lol? and 3 small boxes of chocs, not expensive ones but nice, and I just finished the box of Thorntons ones I had for Christmas so will make the others last till Easter. i had to go to the local shop to get a card for him at the last minute, so hard to choose, had enough problems getting him a birthday card last week, and there wasn't a good selection left so I got a funny one and adapted the words just so he didn't get any ideas lol Got him a small box of praline chocs, and told him he can only have one a week cos of his diabetes. During Sat night while I was on here I also made a big casserole which had I been to get the slow cooker could have been done in that, but had to be on low in the oven till I went to bed Sunday morning. He went to his father's and when he got back I got up then he persuaded me to go out to a local country park for a walk this afternoon, it was nice to get some air and the trees and scenery were lovely so took some pics, then came back and reheated the casserole with loads of basmati rice - he was impressed that I had gone to the effort so a few brownie points for me lol
He did say he had thought of getting steak and doing dinner, but hadn't known whether to or not, I prefer not as he leaves me to the enormous pile of washing up, why do men use so many utensils and pots etc when they cook? I did point out that had he paid attention to newspapers and tv ads he could have got a whole meal as some one on here mentioned, so maybe another time he will think of it, altho knowing his memory problems, probably I am wishing on a star lol
At least the day passed peacefully, and I am looking forward to this week as he is on lates and I can catch up with phone chats, and eat what I want all week. Trouble is I made so much steak casserole (on offer at our local shop, diced casserole steak for £2.50 a pack and a bag of veg reduced on Saturday plus other veg I had etc) that I will be eating that for my dinner on Monday evening too.
Shelly, you could have a look on Gumtree for your area, as lots of people are giving away or selling furniture at the mo because the stuff they bought in the sales after Christmas is being delivered and they want the other things out of the way. Or why not call your insurance company and say you tripped and fell awkwardly onto the sofa and it broke, then you can get a new one with the money.
Rita, I think it's lovely that you get out your cards from your late hubby and re use them, why shouldn't you get more pleasure from them as you did when they first arrived.
take care all, have a good week.
Lizx

Morning all if you can call it that it is misty and rained during the night. where is that sun. come out come out where-ever you are Wash day to day thats not nice either so it is going to be one of those days hope you all have a nice Monday off now to start the washing ,I should not complain really when I first got married I used hot water from a stone copper a scrubbing board and red soap and scrubbing brush then after three rinses it was pulled through a big iron mangle before pegging on the line if it was raining it was hung around the house and you would get damp and steam everywhere.

Washing must be a breeze for you now Rita. It must have been hard for the old people in the days without washing machines, luckily you were young then and could cope with it. Can you imagine having to do it that way now with all the heath problems you've got?
Shelly, why aren't you insured? I know most people never need to claim on their insurance, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Liz, at least you got a card, that's better than most of us - chocolates as well!
Won't be long now before Shelly's hubby is begging her to go back on her lappy and stay there......lol
How long is Marilyn staying at her son's house?
