Hello Rita,
No sorry, I did not explain myself properly. The entrance to the Hotel is in the High Street, on the flat. The back of the hotel overlooks the Prom. There are graduated roads leading from the High Street to the Prom, there are handrails on each road. Lots of the hotels have entrances on the Prom, up to the hotels. So you have a choice of entrance, one on the Prom, and one on the High Street.
The beaches are very clean, a tractor goes along every morning about 7.30 to smooth the beaches for the kiddies. Most of the coach parties that I have seen, get up early and sit on the benches on the Prom and read their newspapers.
I am a very early riser, and used to go for a walk along the beach every morning, having a paddle. :-) I used to see the same people every morning, get a paper, and then get back to our hotel while K. was in the shower. As I said before, I am a lark, he is an owl.
I hope I have explained things a bit better now. You should have no problems. There is a small Sainsbugs opposite you, for necessities. It has taken over from the Woolworths that used to be on that site.
Ta ta for now.

Marilyn I thought of something yesterday you brought a new wedding ring I hope you geo it blessed. that is important.
I am worried now Maddie you tell me there is a steep hill to get to the hotel. we will be travelling by coach to most places otherwise we will get a cab to take us down to wherever we are going to . I am not good with hills. one way for my children to collect their inhertance.
Pat I am doing those same tours with shearing coaches. I also have friends who live on the Island one had an hairdresses not sure she esill has it. ? but here parents (my friends ) have a house on Arnold Avenue Binstead. and I also have a cousin of my husband who lives on the island he has a shop. so I might surprise themn and pop in if I am near by.
I have had my shower and have just had cornflakes and I am drinking my second cup of tea before I make the bed and sort out a few things. morning all and have a great day.
Rita.

Fantastic Morning here again :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Pat......Nice to see you had a good break......where's the Stick of Rock ? :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(
HM Queen Elizabeth looking as radiant as ever yesterday. :-) :-) :-) :-)
She sends her regards to all the Friendly Folk.
A piece of History taking place yesterday. I was glad I was there to witness it. The Colours of Famous Scottish Regiments being Laid Up and the New Colours of the Royal Regiments of Scotland being Dedicated and Blessed. A rather emotional event for many Old Scottish Soldiers .
Having a more leisurely day today. Potter in the garden etc. Not enough wind for sailing. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
Have a good day ya all.

Morning All.
Bright and sunny here.
Hope everyone is well.
I know the Carlton Pat, and I also know the Ocean Hotel Rita.
We have been to Sandown many, many times.
The Ocean Hotel is a big white hotel on the front. The rooms at the back have a sea view. It is near the war memorial. The road by the Ocean is very steep. Hold onto the handrail.
Going into work for a couple of hours today. Hopefully it will be a bit quieter because of the Wimbledon Final. Heres hoping.
See you all later.

Morning all Beautiful here again this morning. Managed to do some work in the garden yesterday, hubby cut the grass and I did more pruning. There is plenty for the recycling tomorrow More knitting and I sat in the sun yesterday and read some of the book I started whilst in Wales. Not sure what to do this morning?
Still taking the pills for 2 more days then as hubby will be off for 3 days I will stop taking them and see what happens. Might need to take them for the further 2 weeks or go back to the Drs.
Have a lovely day everyone
Good to see you back Pat and glad you seem to have had a nice time

The weather was ok. It rained on Tuesday when The coach took us to Newport Market. The weather was good considering. I saw lots of places, Shanklin. Osborne House, Yarmouth, Ryde. It's a nice place. I wouldn't mind go back next year :-) The hotel I was staying at was the Carlton. It was right on the sea front.

I haven't read this thread for the last seven day.s I'll do that after I've unpacked. It's nice to be home <3

It has been a nice day here. I didnt go out only to the laundryroom where I did all my washing, went this morning instead of Monday, the sun has been out all day .and it makes the dust show up on the furniture. so I will have to get around to dusting tomorrow. I dont know where the dust came from ? as I dusted yesterday.
I sat and watched a film this afternoon I have seen it so many times of the earfth quake in New York. but needed a rest.so chose that to watch. checking on the films on all chanels they have all been on in the last few weeks I have run out of books to read. so the lady in the flat above sent me three Jeffery Archer books down to read.. I have not read any of his so done know if I will like them, be will have to wait and see.

Morning it is slow Pauline not that I have found it too day . so far. ? but yesterday I seem to take forever to get on sites and that was not just this one either Google was terrible. you could showered and made tea in the time it took that to come up.
your never beleive this I didnt wake till 8.30 I am sitting here having my first cup of tea. I trotted off to bed at 10.30 and was so tired I dropped off to sleep at once. then two hours after went to the loo back to sleep again I would never have woken till my Estate Manager who went out at 9.45 arrived back car lights lite the bedroom up. and the car door slammed so did the flat door. followed but other doors in her flat. so I sat and read some of Daniell Steele book. then laid down and went to sleep. to be woken again by the guy in the flat near me who once again lite the room up. but he went in quietly.
I eventually dropped off to sleep and didnt wake till I was having a nightmare .looked at the clock to find it was 8.30 nightmare in the morning must be another word for that. have a good day everyone.
