My surname has my Dads first name in it Dermot.

Dermot Report 10 Jul 2011 17:06

Icelanders don't have surnames. Their second name is the first name of their parent - Magnus Magnusson or Gudrun Magnussdottir are examples.

Women don't change their names on marriage.

Morning Friendly Threaders, Thankyou for the email Pauline, I loved it, it was so funny.
Hope you are feeling better Maddie, my eyeballs hurt when I had chicken pox,
so I know how that feels.
We went to see the renovation yesterday, it was a big bungalow that backed onto the sea front, structurly it was good, but it needs gutting and a new kitchen, bathroom, windows, and a good decorate, and the garden needs slashing down as everything is over grown, but we really liked it, so mum and dad hope to get our home on the market next monday, as there are a few things that need touching up this week, I was speaking to one of the neighbours and she said they have been waiting for the right people to come along as its been empty for some time.
Have a nice Sunday everybody.

Morning all
Slept late this morning after going to bed around 1:00, finishing off some knitting !!!
Dull here this morning, but I have the washing on, hoping it will dry outside.
I need to cut at least one lawn while hubby is at work , til 3:30 if we are lucky. He was really late yesterday. Bad accident on the M25, air ambulance - top cut off the car - masses of jams. Then when he got onto the road that leads to ours another bash in sight of our house...... but had heard nothing !!!!! Then we went to our daughters to return something yesterday evening and there was a crash at the traffic lights down the road from hers, neither car looked too good in that either, but looked OK for the people, thank goodness. So enough accidents or I won't leave home.

Have a good day everyone

Linda :-) <3

Morning, just back from a bit of shopping.

I cannot stay in for too long, I get cabin crazy.

I think it is just plain old tiredness, combined with a bug that is going around at work. Everyone is coughing and sneezing. :-P

Stephen, thank you for your offer, but even my eyeballs ache. :-(

Hope Rita got off ok. Jean, we are all behind you love.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone else.
See ya later.
Morning All,
LOL Stevey.......Pete has no interest in any renovations except for a computer !!
He's a laid back man & only will do what I ask of him like the dishes & cleans my oven & floors & hoovering & cutting the grass & Holidays ..........now where would he have time to renovate that Farm House :-S
Something going on in Plymouth today ...Soldiers marching !!
Its a sunny day and seems very warm hope it continues.
Maddie are you any better today ?
Bath ready ....
Morning All !
Calm here this morning, a bit damp but bright enough.
Now that my materials have arrived I can get down to some real building work......I just love it when things begin to take shape and the final result I know will last way beyond my time on this planet :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
The family are having a great time in the South of France. I'm missing my cuddles though :-( :-( :-( :-( Will need to make up for it when they get back.
Pauline......of course I fancied you with your other look......it's just that you look so 'innocent' with your new look ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Marilyn, You go for your 'ruin' across from you. If you have a dream and a vision of the finished result it will happen. Put Pete in an Old Folks Home for the duration of the project.
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Hope Maddie is well on the mend....'Fluffy Paws' is on stand-by.....just in case of a relapse ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Morning all,
Not looking too bad outside, must get the washing on the line quickly.
Have friends arriving on Monday for 11 days so must have a tidy up as well, mind you, they know it's a busy house with toys, children and dog strewn everwhere, so I'm not spending all weekend on housework.
Have a good day :-)
