Good morning to you all.

Not a nice day here, so not got any plans to go anywhere except
to my horses.

Breakfast,
Cereal or fruit,
Bacon, eggs, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns.
Toast or hot rolls.
Tea, coffee or juice.

Rita, what a terrible journey for you, hope the holiday was good.
Cath, I bet you will miss your grandson, will he be at playgroup all
day or just morning?
Marilyn, hope you enjoyed your holiday.

Hope everyone is ok and wish you all a peaceful day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to all.
Take care and stay safe.
Jean xx :-) :-) :-)
Good morning all,
Blowing a gale down here and cold to boot :-P :-P :-P
Good to have Marilyn and Rita back from their hols.
Did some work on my tree yesterday, trying to unravel a mystery. Think I made some progress but a few more things to check out when I have time.
Grandson starting playgroup today, my house will be quiet for a few hours at least :-) Hope he is ok though as he is quite clingy and not as confident as the girls were at his age. His older sister is at the same playgroup so we thought it a good idea to start him before she goes to school in September.
Taking mother to town this morning, should be a barrel of laughs in this weather, hope I can park near the shops as I don't fancy my chances of getting umbrella to stay up in this wind.
Hope everyone is well.
It sounds a nightmare coachride Rita.
I don't know about you but I was very tired and I've got no inclination to go anyway else again except to my sisters. That's on a 315 coach to Portsmouth
:-)
Next year I'll do bus trips- eat out at nice restaurants for a week. A lot less hassle.
Rita,
That was disgusting, EVERYONE should complain and get some sort of compensation, just let them know you wont ever use their company again .
Never mind, Rita at least you went away it was quite good in Devon weather wise it only rained Friday afternoon.
Where is everyone ? all gone .....AWOL
Pat I had a terrible time getting to and from the IOW we left the flat at .8.55 to get to the station by 9.15 all thought the coach time was for 9.30 we got there to find the coach almost full. we drove to Fleet (where my son works as a computer consultant ) and had to wait for the driver who was taking us to Bushy he didnt arrive they sent another driver to take us to Bushy outlet where all the coaches come in and your coach unloads and you get the one to take you to the IOW we sat there for two hours before our coach number was called out. then we drove all the way back down the M25 passing Fleet, Guilford and Woking where I live. to Portsmouth we only waited a few minutes for the Ferry and was over there in no time at Fishguard, we drove to the hotel.
but the ride coming back was sheer misery. it was pouring of rain. really pouring. we drove to Portsmout and got the early ferry. then we were too early so he drove around Southsea and Portsmouth pointing out things of interest. still pouring of rain you could see nothing outside. we then went through the country side to lose time Buckinghamshire, Alton etc then to Camberley where my son lives then Woking where I live up to The Fleet turn over. our driver left to get the coach back to the IOW ours was due in 15 minutes 3/4 hour afterwards he arrived blames the traffic for the delay. we had just been going to phone the Coach company people were feeling faint due to the heat. some were getting upset some got off and walked about. we were not happy at all we then drove back up to Bushy change over. about 48 coaches were there all from different parts of Britian so they had to be unloaded and reload to the coach to take them home ., there were no seat in the hall everyone was taken. we were standing out side for two hours before being called to our coach we were the third but last to move out and yet had been one of the first in.
I am going to write a complaint about it. if I had known I could have got off at fleet and my son would have collected me. or got off at Portsmouth and caught the train hour and half run to my station.
It was a real nightmare.
Hi All,
Dermot I used buy NOTW , but then I got cocky and found I could read it on line ........but they took it off line, so that was the end of that !! :-S
Now who are we suppose to forgive ?
I can only forgive Pete for not getting my dinner today as I was very busy altering his trousers that he bought !!
Agatha....LOL.... I'm sure Oscar will win the talent contest, just give him the whole packet of Choc buttons just before his tune !!.
W~~~~~~aves to Stevey & Pat & Dermot ....the only ones here tonight
I'm going to watch the Apprentice at 9' its on for 2 hours .....
Yes I'm sorry for the people who've lost their jobs. I keep on thinking that a new paper will get printed.
Stephen2009 Report 17 Jul 2011 19:43
Evening all !
Pat, You'd probably get a better read in the 'Beano' than you would in the NOTW.
As long as I can remember from my childhood that newspaper was not allowed in our house
Can't say I'll shed any tears over it's demise......sorry for a lot of folk that will lose their jobs though.
Almost time for my tea.....I'm feeling peckish :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Welcome home Rita......glad you had a good holiday :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
It took me nearly all day to get home. The coach left the hotel 10.00and the ferry crossing wasn't until 2.30pm.
I forgot to say. The Craig brothers were in prison over there as well all know. . did you know this ? they brought a bunglaow for their mother near the prison it has a plaque up over the door. we had to laugh our guide who lives there said she could stand on the back step and wave to them. lol
They wanted her to be near to them.; it was a lovely little Bungalow someone asked why would she want to live there on her own ? |I said perhaps the neighbours in London made it hard for her living where they had committed crimes.
Hi Rita is back. I cam back last night very tired.
we had a lovely Hotel, all Polish Waitresses and two Waitors from Afganistan I could not find fault with their work they were so nice and worked so hard. we had fantastic meals. and entertainment every night mostly singers. the last night we had a young man who sang Country and Westen and taught Line dancing. he was great we also had two nights of Scott Taylor one of the orignal Tremolos of the late 60.s
We met some nice people two who came from Scotland just outside of Glasgow he took photos of my sister and me. they were really nice people. we also met some people from Havering in Cambridge/norfolk boarders they shared our table and stayed with us in the evening when we saw the shows. she works at Addenbrook hospital.
The weather was lovely one half day when it rained and another day when it was windy.
we went all over the island and still did not see all we wanted to. They have a Donkey Santary a farmer who owned a big farm and farm house had no family and he left it to the Donkeys, what a lovely thing to do., we didnt get a chance to see them. but want to spend a few days over there to see the things we didnt have the time to see on this trip. we didnt go to the Castle or Osbourne House.
I will tell you the story of our Journey there and back next time. it was a night mare.
PS
Jean I went to eat at a place where they played Gypsy music and took photos of four Vardas two for children and two adults ones they were painted red and white they were really beauitiful. This was in a little village named Godshill.
Hello Friendly threaders, I'm back from the caravan, it was lovely weather Friday, It rained saturday until teatime then it came out nice and today was wet.
The caravan next door still has not been sold, they usually sell quickly, it must be the weather putting people off.
There is dog show on camp in a couple of weeks, its a talent show, so I am going to make Oscar practice his singing, he only sings to the theme tunes of Eastenders and Coronation Street, I wish he had a bigger selection to choose from.
Glad you had a nice holiday marilyn, and I hope everyone else is OK.
