Where didn't we go. Family in Leeds and Guisborough near Middlesbrough. Stayed in a family van near Scarborough and used that as a base to travel around. Went north to Edinburgh, South to Chelmsford to visit family that my hubby hasn't seen since they were kids. Down to Devon, went to Liverpool, Blackpool, North Wales, Bath....well I could go on.

Gosh Sue,
You covered some miles.
Even as a UK based person I haven't been to all those places.

And now you're back home for the approaching Spring.

Yes, but it's freezing at the moment. We travelled 5,000 miles and all the family couldn't believe we saw so much. We also went to Stonehenge, Salisbury, Winchester, Southampton, Exeter oh, I could go on. Must go and do some shopping. Great talking to you all, will join in again if I may.

Sorry Susan
Crossed posts there.

I have no ancestors from this far south east corner, but have travelled to Sussex, Herefordshire and Glamorgan to see where they lived.
This searching gets a bit addictive doen't it, so earlier this year while in New Zealand, I just had to see if I could find the graves of any relatives descended from a relative who went out there c.1859.
We found lots, including the grave of that long-ago traveller.

What about you?

No No.... He lived in Southampton, ....so that should make it easy for you.

It's my DAVIES who married DAVIES who lived in Wales....

,,,and a different lot of JONES who moved from Hereford, but I won't confuse the issue by talking about them...

bet you can't find him with just the name though Kaz.

Tis nothing Gwyn....I have a William Williams and an Evan Evans.

Have been all over but not to find rellies except up North...fair takes it out of one just treking through Newcastle Libraries and archives and meeting a couple of rellies who's stories have been a war and peace worth. Kept me busy for years.

Year, date of birth ( George Jones that is ).....Parents etc etc etc ( reminds me of The King and I lol )

OK
Just received a death certificate for Emily JONES, 35,wife of George JONES a labourer, who died in Southampton, South Hants Infirmary in November 1855.
What happened to George, .... and his children? He was born in Southampton, c.1813.
Where's the family in 1861?
He was in Cross Street in the area of St Marys, Southampton in 1851.
Where is Charlotte Alice JONES, my great grandmother b. 1846 and who married in that city in 1865?

Susan9363343 Report 4 Sep 2008 04:40

assuming that is the correct census.....do you think maybe the enumerator got it wrong and wrote Charles instead of Charlotte.......being 4 years old would make the birth 1847.

Too late Gwyn.....already looking :-))))

Have a good sleep and get yourself rested. Good luck to your Grandson for tomorrow/today.

Night night
