have a go at have always wondered and even convinced that I carry the FAT GENE for all the family I think its very interesting...

I think I am the same, but if the fat gene is regional from thhe UK, how come I have brought it all the way to Germany with me ;O)

Interesting post, I often wonder how many traits we inherit genetically. I get terrible cold feet and so does my father but we both do not have bad circulation probs..lol

Thats avery good point....I also think I have inherited my Mothers sweet tooth.....and the fat gene maybe from her as my Dad was very tall and slim..

GA yep.....I was watching a video of myself and a friend walking along the beach which my OH had taken and I was suprized to see how she had my mannerism (sp).....and also my son reminds me of my own Dad with his hand jestures ...but he died when I was young so he hasn't copied them..

YOu can loose weight stil by eating the stuff you like and with out cokking down...sometimes depends on how you cook it...

Hayley - I dont think you have inherited the fat gene, but on a recent photo I saw of you, you definitely have the "bootleg" jean )))))))

I personally have the bandy-leg jean! as has my brother, and sister and probably my mum had she ever wore them!

What are your views, and the other peeps on here, on all this modifying genes/embryos etc for making poorly peeps better?

I'm not sure, however, if we can do something to help somebody health wise then maybe we should!?
But not sure how far things should go.

Just bought some low fat spray, and being doing healthier option.

If this does not work I can always say it was not the 3 mars bars I had after my tea, it must be in my genes!

I have never thought about that deep about it but if it was to be debated.. I suppose I would be all for making people healther but then about ordering the sex of your babies....at the back of my mind I keep thinking...is it messing with nature ? Then they will be always someone that will abuse the knowledge....for their own ends....

Good point Hayley,, not thought about choosing the sex of a little one for non medical reasons..

Maybe the old phrase " playing God" is apt.
