Janet they were lovely.... don't listen to them... I had a very very sexy white one.

They were jumpers, where the underarm seam on the sleeve startedon the bottom rib of the jumper.... if you held your arms out side ways. you looked as tho your arm was connected to your waist, lol

Batwings...well if you wore a jumper with batwing the wrist would be sort of joined to the waist, so when you spread your arms, it looked like batwings.

Maddie that reminds me, my ex MIL broke my daughters heart...she IRONED her shell suit! There was a big iron shaped hole in the back of the jacket. My daughter loved her shell suit, lovely shiny pink one. She was only 7 lol

Oh Sally... I remember the big hair, lol... mine looked like Diana Ross on a bad hair day... the hair just frizzed for Europe... had to have it all cut out a week later, lol... my perm started about three inches along the length, which meant the crown was flat and unpermed... the rest, well!!

Dozzas mum... no, I didn't.... I didn't wear tights to school, I was the only one in the 5th form still wearing knee length socks... although I refused to wear white ones, and wore black!

Gawd Muffy.... £70 .... I don't think mine cost more than 70DM, and that was both of them, lol!!

Teresa, I had a really posh pair of Reebok trainers at the time... I had only worn them a couple of times when I had a really bad injury... I wouldn't let the paramedics cut them off me, even though to get them off nearly killed me... the bone of my ankle was sticking out, lol!!

That was when I was 25, and I finally threw them away after regular wear about 5 years ago.... I was about 49. They built stuff to last then, lol

Caz, I would have loved to try the Goth thing... but I was already married with sons of an age when they would have died with embarrassment... and OH would have been hauled up in front of the RSM pretty smartish, lol!

Maddie, I smoked quite heavily in those days, too!!

Lol Juliecat... I didn't have that excuse!! I was a pretty mean netball player at the time..... but the serious stuff was not very decorative, lol

Hayley, I bet you looked cute, too!!

Never had a shell suit but did wear legwarmers once with a flying suit...they were called flying suits weren't they? Those all-in-one top and trousers joined together? Mine was beige. did anyone else have one?

Hayley do you remember Rotters nightclub in Offerton? That's where I wore it....embarrasing thought.
