I called twice but the lady I needed to speak to was in a meeting. When I started to give the woman I was speaking to a message, she said she thought she'd heard my name mentioned today and would check the boards for me.

I crossed my fingers.

When she came back she said that I was being considered for a property. I checked it was the one I was expecting. She said they probably wouldn't know more until the keys came in. But since everything has been cleared from the flat I don't see what else is keeping the keys away, they must have them back, surely. I mean everything including carpets was stripped out.

I tried again to speak to the right woman but she wasn't there and I left a message to get her to call me. I didn't get a call but my phone was off for about 20 mins while in the doctors.

I don't know if the 'being considered' means it's just me, or me and one other or me and 20 others. I'm going to try and call again tomorrow, don't want to make a nuisance of myself but really need a yes or no.

Maybe youd get extra concideration if you were barmy or an illegal !

Probably Lindsey :( Although, to be fair, I'm right up there given that I'm disabled living in an unsuitable property that is in disrepair and soon to be homeless... in fact the only way I could probably have a better chance would be if I **was** an asylum seeker. LOL

Well, the housing woman woke me up calling this morning. She explained that 'being considered' means that my name is beside the property and barring any emergency case etc, that property is MINE. Must not get excited coz some swine could come waltzing in homeless and nick it from under me LOL. It's unlikely anything will go wrong, but until the allocation is officially made it's not guaranteed. Could be end of this week beginning of next so it's likely to be Tuesday in light of the bank holiday. The wait is killing me almost as much as the not knowing yes for definite. LOL. The end is in sight though, I hope.

Thank you all for your continued support, I know I've probably board you all to death with this.

Liz, they'll only give me a one bed because I've no kids. Am hoping to eventually get a sofa bed though.

Ok shall we form a picket line outside their offices and jam their phones and emails so that noone can get in there and it will definitely be yours then.

Good luck

Fingers crossed for you Liz, it's a pity it's taken this long but glad its all getting sorted out at last.

My council wouldn't even consider giving us a ground floor flat, even though we both needed it, so we rent privately now.

Dawnie, oh...that's a great idea, jam the phone lines and only let people in who are already in happy houses/flats LOL.

LOL. Thanks you guys, you're awesome. If willpower, crossed limbs and positive thoughts have any influence then there's little doubt it will be mine :-))

Daff, oh dear...well with you and Jax... gotta say it's a done deal really LOL. Will send the welsh rugby team round to uncross your bits PMSL

Merlin, I like your style, know anywhere I can learn how to pick a lock? PMSL

Sally, it really is the wait that's awful, the last week went so slow... honestly, thought it was gonna kill me, and now I gotta do it again unless I get a call tomorrow.

TW, that really sucks, I thought that they had an obligation to house disabled people if they were in an unsuitable property.

Thanks again, all :-))
