I Know this is old post but its my family too and the lady in question (Sarah Bailey ) was infact a Bailey originally (Maiden name ) looks to me that she changed her name back after husbands death to Bailey along with her sons but elder son John Steptoe 1870 stayed a steptoe ???
does any one have any ideas as to why someone would change name back to maiden name ??
and yes i have tried to contact original poster but no replys guess the age of post
