Edward was born in Lakenham. I have the parish note for that. Thomas was an engineer. I have no census info on Thomas at all. So It could be the Thomas from Dewsbury who knows. Thats another spanner in the works lol Gail

oh yes, look at me and that ww. have you got thomas on a census at all. is that how you know he was born in lakenham. i only ask cos there is one born 25/12/1797 in dewsbury ! wierd. sue.

Edward his son was living at Vicarage Road Dewsbury when his son James was born. I reckon that Thomas would have been living close by. I wonder how many Thomas Ellis died in Dewsbury/ Wakefield. I feel as if I am going around in circles but I need to do it. If you know what I mean. Gail

hi, now i think about it, it was the 1851 index. they dont have the 1841 index book at dewsbury. i think {?} they have the 1841 census though. what do you think best thing to do is ? sue.i have the 1851 census, but he might be outside dewsbury ie batley but still in the dewsbury area. sue.

Well Thomas has not been found in the Norfolk 1841 census, so I am sure he went to Dewsbury. Gail

hi gail the only one was mary ann stephenson. chr 24/2/1833. spurriergate, st michael, yorkshire. f william m edith. sorry. told you it was hit and miss. lol. sue.

hi gail, sorry its so late- one of those days ! all st nicholas, yarmouth. mary b 19/1/1793 elizabeth b 15/2/1791 edmund b 15/7/1785 all children of george and elizabeth mary b june/1805 william b 30/3/1807 caroline b 22/8/1800 samuel b 24/9/1796 anne b 7/8/1793 francis savage artis b 14/2/1791 elizabeth savage artis b 12/2/1790 all children of francis and elizabeth. hopethis helps, sue.

HI SUE, UNTIL I FIND THEM ON A CENSUS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEIR AGES WERE. THE NORFOLK 1841 HAS BEEN CHECKED AND I DON'T THINK THAT THE ELLIS THAT WAS FOUND IS MY ELLIS AS HE WAS 45. YOUR FIND ARE A POSSIBLE SO I WILL KEEP THEM THANKS A LOT GAIL

hi gail, the vital records index. was mary about the same age as thomas ? the 2 nearest his age are..... mary artis chr 19/1/1793 at st nicholas yarmouth f george artiss m elizabeth gimmingham mary artis b 1805 st nicholas yarmouth f francis artis m elizabeth s. do either of these look likely. sue.

hi gail, like me, i am off to manchester in september. oh heck, i have had a look on the vri, here goes.. thomas henry phillips ellis. b 14/6/1798 chr 15/6/1798 at yarmouth, norfolk. st nicholas. f thomas ellis m frances powley. there are a couple of births for mary artiss, both are yarmouth. have you any idea when she was born ? sue.
