The only person resembling your Thomas James I can find on 1901 and it has taken ages is T Washburn Single Age 20 Crewe member Royal Navy born Chester,Cheshire. Present on board His Majesty's Ship 'Hawk', Hampshire. I know the age is wrong but that is the least of our worries with this lot. If I were you I would send for that birth certificate that Helen has verified and also take a chance on the wedding certificate because it may give occupation that proves he was in the Navy. Helen - did you see if there were any Thomas Washburn's born 1876 that fit. I've run out of units at the moment. I noticed on 1881 that Mary Ann's brother spelt his name Hancox. What is it with your lot!! Good Luck,Tricia |

Hello, thanks for all the info again!! I have just bought some units for 1837, but I cant find a thing (maybe i'm doing this wrong) :( Do you think maybe Thomas James had gone by the name of Jackson! On one of the censuses he was known as Thomas James Washburn Jackson. Just a thought. Thanks again Kerrie |
