Find Ancestors

Hello Andrea, I don't yet have her on 1881 as was hoping to narrow down there were a few Annie Richardson's ,was hoping to confirm place of birth from 1871 to select from 1881. Found a definate on 1901 Annie Friun (found marriage 1895 to David Fruin)says birth place was Richmond surrey,but on same census daughter Mildred Florence born Richmond surrey and I have Mildred's birth cert and its Brentford not Richmond so Annie's might not be right on 1901. Had a possible for 1891 but shows her as 18 born about 1873 Twickenham this does not now tie up with info from her marriage cert and 1901 census age 39 so born about 1861-2. So would be 29 not 18 in 1891. This is one confussing ancestor! Thanks for the lookup & your time much appreciated. Jenny

Jenny In 1871 these are the only Ann/ie Richardson's born in Surrey: Ann Richardson abt 1861 Newington, Surrey, England Daughter Camberwell St Giles London Ann E Richardson abt 1859 Merton, Surrey, England Daughter Wimbledon Surrey Anne Richardson abt 1862 Croydon, Surrey, England Daughter Croydon Surrey Annie Richardson abt 1863 Bermondsey, Surrey, England Daughter Camberwell London Unfortunately none of them have a father named James. Hello Andrea, Don't know if this is still available or not but would love it if you could find: James Richardson living with daughter Annie Maria Richardson on 1871 census Annie would be about 10 and was born in Twickenham or Richmond,Surrey.James was a Painter (occup from Annies marriage cert in 1895) don't yet have wifes name hoping for this info. Andrea, I have census for Robert 1881 and 1891 and yes, it is the same you have. I know his Father is Charles and his mother is Jane Dormer. I think as you say, the only way i can sort this is to order Ethel´s birth certificate to sort this out. I will as soon as i get back to England - its killing me living in Mallorca!!!!!! Natalie You are right - these are very frustrating but Newbottle is 'my place' so I've had a bit of a deeper look. What is strange is that in 1891 there is a Robert A Jeffrey living with parents Charles and Jane in 6 William Street. At 3 William Street there is a Mary A Curry living with her parents Robert and Ann. You could therefore assume that this couple are the ones that were married in 1893. What I am not sure of is whether these are 'your' people. Robert is listed as born in Lambton, which, to be fair, is right next to Lumley so he's a possible. Mary is listed as born in Chester le Street which isn't Penshaw but is still a possibility. Robert and his huge family are in Bourmoor in 1881 which again is near Lumley/Lambton. Did they have any children? You may need to get one of their certs to confirm Mary/Margarets name. The other alternative is that they didn't get married. Do you have any more information at all?
