Kathleen Maybe on getting the wedding organised, Daisy found she had not been registered and this was a very late entry - or perhaps there was some discrepancy. Or this may be another lady with the same name. Only the birth cert might shed some light! Nell

I would have suggested that maybe Margaret's parents married just prior to that and Margaret was re-registered, I know that happened back then too, but if Benjamin had died by 1905 then that was obviously not the case. Do you have a death for him, or are you going by the fact that it said deceased on Margaret's marriage cert? Do you have Margaret's mother's maiden name? Have you looked for a birth for Margaret using that? Sam

Margaret daisy Ward married William smart Feb 1905 I have the marriage certificate. I tried to find her birth she was aged 19 on marriage cert. I searched 1885,1886,1887 on 1837 and could not find her. I checked the census returns for 1891 & 1901 and could not find her. Her fathers name was Benjamin and he was deceased in 1905. I checked Free BMD and found a birth in march qtr 1905 for Margaret Daisy Ward. I checked it out on 1837 since I though Free BMD might have made an error. Any one got any ideas. I know send for the birth Certificate but why would her birth be registered in 1905??? Am I missing something. They lived in Lambeth and were married in Clerkenwell. I cannot even find William Joseph smart on 1901 census. He was born 1885.
