Hi there, I have come to a dead end and this is my only hope!! I cannot find my gggrandad anywhere after 1891. His name was William Mattless and he was born in 1844 in Clenchwarton, Norfolk. He was alive in 1895 when my gggrandma died but I have lost all trace of him from there onwards. His younger children were shown on the 1901 census as being with older siblings which initially made me think he had died but I can't find any record. I've even written to the Church in Clenchwarton, but to no avail. The workhouse is my only hope!!! how do I seach to see who was in there at the time of the 1901 census? Any help gratefully received. Regards Julie |

Hi Julie, If he was in a workhouse in 1901, he should ( famous last words) be on the 1901 census.Regards Vera |

Hi Vera, I had a funny feeling you would say that!!! I was just hoping you wouldn't!!!! I really don't know what to do next. It's not crucial in my search, but it's just frustrating and now I'm like a dog with a bone and I know I won't rest until I find his death! Thanks again for replying. Julie |

Hi Germaine, That is certainly a possiblity that I hadn't thought of!! It would explain why his children were with older siblings. I may have to look further afield for his death!! What does it mean on your reply 'view image' - is there something that you could possible email me? Thanks again for your help Regards Julie |

Hi Pen, Can you tell me where you get your info from? do you subscribe to ancestry or have you bought your own set of discs from somewhere? Hubby doesn't know what to get me for Crimbo and if I can get as much info as you can from somewhere he might just have found something to get me!!! Love Julie |
